Room 406, Late afternoon

She's made it through through her classes and the StuCo meeting. Now Isabel is reorganizing everything on her side of the room. It only looks like her closet exploded.

She shrugged, "That's okay. It's a fitting end to the week." Isabel started pairing shoes and lining them up in precise rows along the closet floor. "Those detentions don't sound too bad. Hopefully mine will be just as easy. Although it does suck to waste a Saturday."

"Do you want to talk about any of it?" Parker asked cautiously. She is so the wrong person, in some ways, to offer comfort, but maybe Isabel just needs to talk. "You can vent and throw shoes, I won't tell. God knows I do it enough myself."

"There's really nothing to talk about," Isabel said casually. She got to her feet and started to sort through the clothes on her bed. First, sort by color. "It's happened and I just have to deal with it." Isabel didn't mention any specific 'it'. There's a bunch of them to chose from but the method of dealing is the same for each one.

"So how are you doing that?" Parker knows these symptoms, since they're her symptoms, for gods' sakes. "Dealing, I mean. Talking to anyone? You don't have to. Obviously. I'm just wondering what your particular alternative is."

"Living." Sorted by color, now sorted by style, casual, semi-casual, dressier... "Life just seems to keep happening so I just keep living it."

"That's not actually dealing." Parker watched Isabel sort. "Although I admit that insane organization can at least keep you occupied while you work on getting ready to do so."

Isabel considered separating her plastic hangers into the appropriate color piles as she started to hang her clothes up but figured that would be a bit to retentive. "I'm dealing, really. Yeah, when I first heard the radio I was a bit rattled. But it's okay now. Seriously, do you honestly think I could have kept it secret for much longer? Here at this school?"

"No. But that's not the same as having Skeeter the scuz out you without warning." Parker watched for a moment longer, then said, "Can I help? Move something out of the way?"

"If it wasn't her, it would have been someone else. I have no clue how she found out, but if she did, somebody else could have just as easily."

She kept her attention focused on the clothes she was putting back in the closet. "And thanks, but that's okay. I have a system, I don't want to mess it up."

Parker bit her lower lip, watching Isabel go through the motions of organization; keep the hands busy, and maybe the mind wouldn't have time to catch up. "I think I'll leave you to it, then. But if you get bored, I'll be in my room." She stood up, and headed for the door, her hand brushing Isabel's hair on the way by. "Okay?"

Isabel nodded, still focused on the clothes. "Thanks Parker, I appreciate it."

Parker shut the door behind her, wishing she had any idea what else to say to Isabel, and made her way back down to her own floor.
