33 Apocolypse Ave, Wednesday evening

Keeping in mind what she'd been told at the library, Isabel kept a wary eye out on the way back to Ronan's house.

She didn't notice anyone suspicious and maybe she was just being paranoid, but it seemed like the streets were a little emptier then normal.

Relieved to finally be back in familiar surroundings, Isabel poked around the kitchen and tried to figure out what to make for dinner.

[For the housemates or anyone else that needs her]

"Bad feeling kind of way. Plus they were fascinated by her primitive writing." Yeah, it wasn't much to go on, but it seemed to fit the situation.

Parker sat back, frown deepening. "Fascinated in that it wasn't done with a light-pen, or fascinated by the whole concept?" she asked, dubious.

"I think fascinated in that it wasn't high-tech or evolved maybe?" Isabel shrugged. "I don't know for sure. But I'm thinking some sort of higher intelligence maybe?"

"Or just plain alien. No offense to any tabasco-and-chocolate-loving entities in our midst," Parker said, digging into her food again, thinking. "When did these creepy people get here? We've been basically cut off since Saturday."

"I don't know, radio hasn't said anything." But the squirrels weren't all knowing and stuff did slip by. "Tomorrow morning's broadcast should be interesting."

"That's one word for it," Parker muttered, shaking her head. "If there's actual people we can grab for information, that's a step forward, though. Although if they don't understand the questions, it may only be a half a step."

"At least knowing there's something helps. Maybe. I don't know," she sighed. "I just feel like we're running out of time."

Stabbing at the pasta with her fork, Parker grumbled, "We'll find something." Her tone was getting more desperate. "We have to."

"I know. Because I don't like our odds if we don't." Isabel was feeling the tiniest bit of defeat herself.

"We're not done yet. If we've got names, and we've got people, and we've got Special Collections... there will be progress. Somehow." Parker closed her eyes, still eating. "But I need to sleep before I go back and do that."

"Why don't you crash here again?" Isabel offered. "If there's weirdness about, no need for you to risk it."

"Why not." Parker ate a couple more bites, her vision blurring with tiredness. "I miss Zero." Jarod too, but today had been a day to be reminded of Zero more.

"I know. I bet she would have loved a trip into Special Collections." With her boots and her mallet no doubt.

"And dancing with the Wild Things." Parker pushed her food away, and rubbed at her eyes. "Couch. Couch is good."

"Go," Isabel said, pointing the way. "I'll clean up."
