Behind the Meerkat Cabin, late morning through lunch
Isabel didn't get to bed till late and didn't get to sleep until even later. She was too busy replaying the evening in her mind and smiling at the memory. Thursdays were workshop free, so she slept in late and then brought her blanket out to lie in shade of the trees behind the Meerkat cabin. The jug of iced tea is cold, her book is incredibly entertaining in that cheesy, this is entirely not plausible way and overall, life is good.

"Workshop's going fine, I think. Nobody's complained yet, and they're all actually playing along and getting the idea, it seems like. 'Course it helps that I keep bribing 'em. Last week was doughnuts; this week was t-shirts."

"Bribery always works. I know I haven't signed up for it, but can I crash one week? Please?"

"Gotta say the Stickbug/Meerkat war is funny as all hell for those of us not actually participating," he added. Xander glanced at her and grinned. "So how did your date with stick-boy actually go? Epic? Star-crossed? Sand in unfortunate places?"
no subject
"It's been pretty funny even as a participant. Especially when you're waiting to see what happens next. Not that I'm waiting for anything," she said quickly. "The date was very nice. I really had a good time."

He crossed his legs and sat indian-style. "I wondered if maybe wee Greggie was interested - he was all 'Meerkats are meeeeeen oh em gee -- except Isabel.' "

"We've talked a lot. But I thought he wasn't interested because of the alien thing," she admitted. "Then Bridge told me he was and I was thinking I might need to ask him. But he asked me first."

"I'm glad you and Greg had a good time ," he added. "Because I'm totally willing to menace him if you need it? But I'm really, really bad at it."

She bumped against his arm and rested her head against his shoulder. "No menacing is needed. It's good. I think it might wind up being really good."

"Hey, I have a question. Your Willow's at Hogwarts. Do you think she could get hold of some pumpkin juice and butterbeers and send them over here?" Isabel asked, thinking of her earlier conversation with Cedric. "I'd like to surprise someone."
