Because the pacing is annoying, she pushed to manicure stuff out of the way, and sprawled, propping herself up on her arms. "We were in pods. The alien piloting the ship managed to hide us in the desert before he was captured. We finally hatched, for want of a better word, a little over ten years ago, looking like normal six year olds. Everyone thought we'd been through some trauma and been abandoned. So we were put into foster care for a bit, but then were adopted by our folks."
