Room 406, morning

Isabel was warm and cozy, snuggled up in her bed. Happily, unlike the last time she woke up like this, she knew exactly who she was, who she was with and why he was there.

She didn't plan on moving anytime soon.

Wyatt seconded that idea. And thirded and fourthed. He groggily turned his head to kiss Isabel's temple, not saying anything, because speaking would admit to waking, and waking would lead to getting up.

She didn't give any sign that she'd actually woken up. The nuzzling was completely instinctive.

Really.

As instinctive as the magnetic pull of lips to lips. That was why Wyatt was gently kissing Isabel. He couldn't resist the force of nature, really.

The nice thing about soft, slow, morning wake-up kisses was that they didn't require much in the way of movement. Snuggling close and still keeping her eyes closed, Isabel made a quiet sound of contentment.

Wyatt sighed happily and tangled one hand in her hair. He would be perfectly willing to spend all day here instead of facing his parents and trying to figure that mess out.

Sometimes Isabel really hated her practical streak. She pulled away just enough to prop her head on her arm and smile down at Wyatt. To make up for the lack of kissing, she lazily ran her fingers over his chest. "How are you feeling this morning?"

"Better," Wyatt murmured, running his hand up her arm. "Thank you."

"Glad I could help," she said sincerely. Isabel closed her eyes and just barely managed to resist the urge to snuggle back down. "What are you going to do?"

"I don't know," Wyatt sighed. "I need to talk to Chris and figure this out."

"It's a good place to start. He's probably as confused as you are." Her hand drifted up to push Wyatt's hair back and Isabel took a minute to steal a kiss.

"I don't want to push," she said when she finally pulled back the tiniest bit. "But if you want some moral support or a neutral party, or just someone to hold your hand. I'll go with you if you talk to them." Resting her head on his shoulder, she waited for Wyatt's answer, not sure if he'd welcome her intruding on a family matter when things between were still so new.

"I'd like that," Wyatt said quietly, squeezing his arms around her. "I don't even know if I can think straight about this. I could use some moral support."

Isabel returned the squeeze, pressing a kiss to his shoulder at the same time. "Then I'll be there," she promised.

"But we don't have to move just yet do we?"

"Not yet," Wyatt agreed. "It's still way too early to get up on a Saturday."

It could have been noon and Isabel would have still agreed with him. "Good. Because I'm too comfy to move."

Reaching for Wyatt's hand, Isabel tangled her fingers with his. "I'm glad you stayed."

"Me too," Wyatt said, closing his eyes. "Everything got turned upside down last night. It was good to have someone to hold on to."

"Nights can be lonely. Especially when you're upset." Personal experience? No, not Isabel.

She brought his hand up and kissed the tip of his finger before closing her eyes. "I liked being the one you held onto."

"Works out well then," Wyatt said with a goofy grin. "Since I'm glad it was you I could hold onto."

"Funny that," Isabel smiled against his shoulder. "Since we've already decided to not get up? I guess we're going back to sleep for a bit?"

"Works for me," Wyatt said, turning his head to kiss her forehead. "I could spend all day here."

"Some other day," she promised, leaning into the kiss. "When we don't have anywhere to be or anyone that'll come looking for us."

"Spoilsport," Wyatt murmured good-naturedly.

"I'm terrible, yes," Isabel said quietly. "Now go back to sleep. I'll keep holding on."

Wyatt didn't argue. Snuggled up with Isabel, he drifted back to sleep.

Isabel didn't go back to sleep. But she did keep holding on.
