Room 406, after classes

Classes had started, and just like Isabel thought, they were rather interesting. It was certainly going to keep her last semester from being boring.

She'd made a run to J,GoB and picked up some chocolate dipped biscotti to share with Anders whenever he turned up. But for the time being she was surfing ONTD and shaking her head at the latest celebrity meltdown.

The door was open.

True to his word, Anders headed down to the Perk after hanging out in the common room and returned with two jumbo-sized, extra chocolatey mochas that he promptly brought up to Isabel's room, where he knocked lightly on the doorframe with his shoe.

"Little brother coffee delivery!"

"You are beyond awesome," Isabel grinned, closing the laptop and setting it aside. "Come sit and share the chocolately goodness."

Anders dropped down onto the mattress and handed over one of the mochas. "What's up, big sis?"

Isabel TK'd over the bag from J,GoB and offered it to him. "I need a favor."

"And you're bribing me already?" Anders snagged the bag and retrieved a biscotti that promptly got a dunking into his mocha. "Should I be worried?"

"I don't think so," she said foregoing dunking of her own to reach for a picture from the shelf over the bed. "Recognize him?"

Anders leaned over and peered at the picture. "From class today, right? But why would you have a picture of -- wait . . ."

"Got it in one," Isabel replied with a wry smile. "Fandom time wackiness strikes again. That was Michael. Just not my Michael. This one's from about three, three and a half years ago."

"Of course," Anders said calmly. "Because Fandom couldn't let you go through your senior year without throwing a split-fingered curveball like that your way. What about him? Has his brain broken already? Do you need help patching it back up?"

"Honestly? After the initial bzuh? factor? I'm really okay with him being here," she told him. "Fandom will be good for him. He needs a place to be safe. Back home when he's coming from? We so afraid of anyone finding out the truth."

"But there's a problem. He's kind of pissed at me."

"Not a good sign," Anders noted. "I remember it was kind of a big thing back when you first got the secret blown. Well . . . not a big thing to most people, but you know what I mean. So you want me to do the 'hi, I'm an alien too' thing?"

"It was a big thing to me," Isabel sighed. "God, I remember that morning, Xander and I listened to the radio. I was floored and scared. But you're right, no body really cared. And no body went running to the Special Unit."

"I don't know. Can you just be a friend? He's never really had anyone except Max and I."

"For you, big sis? Anything," Anders promised, nudging her lightly, so as not to spill either mocha. "Might be a good idea not to bring up the whole alien thing right away anyway, if he's touchy about it."

Dean saw the open door and took the opportunity to stop in. "Hey, Isabel," he said, knocking on the doorjamb. "I'm not interrupting anything am I?"

"Hey Dean," she smiled, setting aside the computer. "Just reading the latest on Britney's slow slide into insanity. It's beyond amusing at this point and rapidly approaching pretty damn tragic."

"But I'm glad you're here. I wanted to talk to you." Britney would have to fend for herself. Isabel had family to worry about.

"About Michael?" Dean guessed.

"Yeah," Isabel nodded. "Radio said you guys talked. How's he doing?"

"He seemed kinda... jumpy about people knowing the whole alien thing," Dean said. "I think I talked him down though."

"Yeah, he wasn't happy that everyone knew the truth," she admitted with a sigh. "Back home? When he's from? It's only the three of us. No one else. So coming here and finding out the whole island knows? He's a bit freaked out. And mad because I broke a promise."

"Before we came here, the Winchester family rule about hunting was 'we do what we do and shut up about it,'" Dean said. "It takes some adjusting to get used to not needing to hide."

"Oh yeah, I get that. I've had almost two years to adjust," Isabel explained. "But back when people first found out? I was almost as freaked at Michael is. I expected the FBI to turn up and grab me any minute." She had to grin because she could only imagine what would happen if they turned up now. FBI meet Fandom Army.

"So you talked to him about that? How we watch each others backs?"

Dean nodded. "Yep. Told him about what happened when Manticore came after Alec and I got nabbed instead. How that all turned out okay."

"Good. He needs to hear things like that. Hopefully with enough time and repetions, it'll sink in." She only hoped. Because she'd much rather Michael stay in Fandom then head back to Roswell and Hank.

"In the mean time though, he's not talking to me and I'm not going to push him." Been there, done that and it did not turn out well. "I hate to ask, but would you be willing to just keep an eye on him if you see him around?"

"Sure," Dean said immediately. "And I'm sure he'll come around."

"Thank you, I appreciate it." Plus Isabel was pretty sure Michael would listen to Dean. He had the same steady attitude that Max did. "I'm going to give him some more time. See what happens."

"But in the meantime? As far as less worrisome things go?" she said with a smile. "Should we go dancing again? Or just go shoot pool one night?"
