Room 406, evening

Isabel had planned on getting things done today. Except when she'd booted up her laptop to check her email, she clicked a game link that looked interesting.

Hours later, she was still sitting there, trying to beat it. "Dammit, it's just not possible."

The door was open.

[Click at your own risk, I did actually manage to beat all 30 levels. Once. Second time around? I'm stuck on level 16.]

Isabel was still grinning as she scooped up Annie and gave the cat a squeeze. "And we do have some hot ones."

"That we do," she said. Meg finished a piece of chocolate. "You think Wyatt's going to be excited about you getting into UNLV?"

"I'm sure if I'm excited, he'll be excited," she smiled. "And I am. But I'm also kind of sad. Since it means leaving here."

"I haven't been here that long but I'm going to miss it too," she said. Meg was kind of worried about what Dean would say. California was pretty far away after all. "Now that I know I've gotten into a school I think I'll be able to enjoy the next few months in Fandom more."

"I plan on enjoying them as well," Isabel agreed. But in the back of her mind, she was aware they were running out of time. "The Valentine's Dance, Prom, Spring Break. Lots to look forward to."

"Ooo Prom," Meg said. "I can't wait. I love dressing up. I'll be able to dress up for the Valentine's dance too, just not anything poofy and ridiculous. You can only get away with that for Prom."

"I think I'll still pass on poofy and ridiculous for Prom," Isabel chuckled. "Sleek and sophisticated might be a little more fun. I still need to figure out what I'm wearing for the Valentine's dance. I looked at a few things when I was working, but nothing really struck my fancy."

"I haven't had much luck either," she said. "Hopefully I'll find something over the weekend. I completely forgot that the dance was next Friday until I was reminded at the Student Council meeting."

"The benefit of having been here for two years," she explained. "I figured it's tradition at this point and the only thing that would stop it would be an invasion. And even then, we'd still dance. Just with weapons."

"And the dresses would be more practical if there were an invasion," she said. "And sneakers instead of heels."

"I was in a wedding last fall," Isabel laughed. "And one of the reasons we wore the dresses we did? Was because it was easier to hide weapons under them. Not that we needed them. But we were ready."

Meg laughed and shook her head. "I think a baseball bat is as far as I go with weaponry. Can't hide that under a dress. Unless you're very tall."

Isabel set Annie down and wiggled her fingers. "This is it for me. Which is good in a way. I never have to worry about going through airport security with them."

Meg smiled. "That's always a useful feature. Nothing worse than being stuck at an airport."
