Roswell, Friday Night, NFB
Mar. 18th, 2006 11:09 amThe decision has been made and the countdown has begun. They’re going home. Isabel’s not happy. It’s too much, too soon. It’s happening too fast. They still don’t know who’s responsible for what happened to Alex. But if they’re going to save Max’s son, they don’t have a choice.
They’ve made the tape for their parents. She’s said good-bye to Kyle. There’s nothing left to do but wait. Her eyes traveled around her room, taking one last look at everything familiar, before landing on the laptop, an early birthday gift from her parents, sitting on her desk. She sighed. There was still one more good-bye to make.
Hey,
I’m sorry I left without saying good-bye; I got some bad news and had to return to Roswell immediately. And now it looks like I won’t be coming back to Fandom.
Remember when I told you about home, and how we didn’t know where it was or how to get there?
We know now.
And we’re leaving in less then 12 hours.
I don’t want to go, at least not like this. But there’s no choice. Max slept with Tess. I’m pretty sure I mentioned her at some point, but if I didn’t, well… She’s the fourth alien like us, and she was raised by the shapeshifter that was supposed to be our guardian. In the past, she was Max’s wife. Now she’s pregnant and the baby can’t survive here.
So we’re going to leave.
And go home.
I just wish I knew what home was. I thought I’d have more time to figure it out.
I’m scared. But that doesn’t matter. This is something I need to, have to, do.
Can you do me a favor? I never got a chance to tell you, but I told Parker the truth. Can you tell her I said good-bye? Tell her I’m sorry I never got the opportunity to ask her for that advice about test drives she promised to give me.
Take care of yourself, Peter.
Isabel
She pressed send and waited a minute before deleting the copy of the message from the sent folder.
Lying back on her bed, she waited for Max.
