Room 406, afternoon

She'd needed last night, Isabel realized. After everything that had happened, she needed a night of being quiet and feeling safe.

Eventually she'd made it back to her room. After a shower, she'd called her mom, feigning surprise at the news of the destruction of the Meta-Chem, and quickly changing the subject to the cleaning supplies that were currently working busily around the room.

"I know mom," she said eventually. "Yes, we'll be out for dinner soon. I promise. Bye." Isabel hung up her phone and opened her laptop. Solitaire would be a good way to not think for the afternoon.

[Door closed, post is open! And I'm about to go AFK till about 7 EST. I'll grab pings when I get back. And I'm back!!!]

"Absolutely," she promised. "Especially if I get an ice cream craving. We need another trip to Chilly Boulder."

"Maybe.. when you're up to it, we can sit down and chat about all of this. Again, if you feel like it, okay?"

"I can do that," she nodded. "Just not today. I'm still processing."

"I know, sweetheart," he told her. "Just when you're ready, if you want. I'm going to go now, okay? And I'll talk to you soon." He stepped close, wanting another hug before he turned to go.

He'd get it. Definitely. "I'll be here," Isabel promised. "And ice cream soon."

"Good. I'll hold you to it," he said, hugging her tight before he pulled back and stepped backwards towards the door. "I'm glad that you're here." Then he was gone.
