Room 406, all day

It hadn't been a bad last week in Fandom. Between being social, seals, presents, and reality TV, it was certainly memorable. Even if the good-byes weren't so much fun.

There wasn't much left to pack. But Isabel was taking her time doing it.

The door was open.

"Well based on past experience, after Hades aborted takeover, I think you're do for only fun and entertaining invasions," Isabel replied. "At least until you leave the island. This Fall who knows."

"Yeah," Lana said with a smile. "Then I'll just have to rely on Ino for updates."

"Between Michael, Peter, Savannah, Johnny and Chris, I'm sure I'll hear everything that's going on," she answered.

Lana nodded. "You'll be kept well-informed," she said with a smile. "Well, I just wanted to stop by and wish you good luck and safe journeys."

"Thanks Lana, I appreciate it," Isabel smiled. "You take care of yourself okay?"

"I will," Lana said. "And if I ever end up in Las Vegas I'll look you up!"

"I'll be there," she promised. "At least for the next four years. After that. I don't know. If things stay the same, maybe San Francisco, fourteen years in the future.

Lana laughed. "Well, I'm hoping to be in Connecticut for the next 8 years or so. After that, I have no idea. At one time I thought I'd end up in Cascade, Washington, but that doesn't seem too likely anymore."

"Then you make new plans. I want San Francisco. But I know that things could change," Isabel said honestly. "So for now I keep my fingers crossed."

"I'm just going to see how things pan out," Lana admitted. "I'm going to study Forensics, hopefully all the way through to a doctorate in it at U. New Haven, and after that, well, we'll let that take care of itself. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and San Francisco, though."

"That's ambitious. I haven't thought much past my bachelor's," she admitted. "But really given what I think I want to do, that's probably all I'll need."

Lana shrugged. "To do what I want I really need a doctorate, so... I'm not sure how excited I am about 8 or so more years of school, but hopefully it will be worth it in the long run!"

"I'm sure it will. And someday I'll be able to say I knew her when."

Lana laughed. "I don't know about that, but it's a nice thought."

"You could wind up with a TV show about you! You know, like that one on Fox, with the cute couple with all the unresolved tension," Isabel grinned.

Lana laughed again. "I'd be happy if I just ended up with a cute guy!"

"You will. One day when the time is right."

"We'll see," Lana said with a smile. "I'm trying really hard to focus on other things for the moment and just take stuff as it comes. I'm not the luckiest person when it comes to that."

"Understandable," Isabel said. "And classes are going to keep you busy."

"Classes and a job or two," Lana agreed. "Which doesn't mean I'd turn away the right guy were he to show up."

She smiled at Isabel. "I figure not having to worry about random invasions or getting kidnapped to the past or whatever, will leave me with some extra free time."

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to the lack of weirdness. At least for a little while," she admitted.

"The only time I've ever spent without wierdness was the two years I lived in the past," Lana said. "Which is very strange to say, but... yeah. It was kind of nice."

"We'll see. I could wind up bored."

"You can always go hang out in Smallville if you need a dose of it," Lana said with a smile.

"Or home. With our own particular alien themed version of weirdness." Isabel shook her head. "You would not believe the nutcases that turn up for the Crash Festival."
