Las Vegas, Tuesday evening

Knowing she'd be coming back from the weekend and facing exams bright and early Monday morning, Isabel was actually studying during study week.

Of course studying meant study breaks. Which explained why she was currently planing crops on her Facebook farm.

"I have to," she answered quietly. "Because anything else means I lose you. And that can't happen."

Wyatt sat down beside Isabel and leaned against her. "I won't let it happen," he said.

"No, you won't," Isabel agreed, wrapping her arms around him. "We've talked about it before. It's all about the choices. And making the right ones."

"And I never make wrong choices," Wyatt said, managing a weak smile.

"That's what I'm here for. To thwap you when you need it." She tried not to think about what happened when she wasn't there. She could only hope that Wyatt had learned from that.

"Want to stretch out and let me hold you?"

"You know me so well," Wyatt sighed, stretching out on the bed.

"I have an ulterior motive," Isabel admitted, stretching out beside him. "I like holding you."

"Works out well," Wyatt grinned, wrapping his arms around her. "Since I like holding you."

Slowly stroking Wyatt's hair, Isabel closed her eyes. "Then since we're both doing something we like, there's no need to move for the next few hours," she replied.

"You read my mind," Wyatt murmured. He had no intention of letting go, not for awhile.

"Magic powers of my own." Or just knowing Wyatt really well.

"I'm just going to say one more thing." She didn't want to ruin the peaceful mood that had settled over them, but Wyatt had been avoiding Chris for too long. "Tthink about what I said. And talk to him. Otherwise I'm afraid he's going to go off and do something dumb on his own."

"I'll think about it," Wyatt said, snuggling closer. "Promise."

It wasn't the answer she wanted to hear. But it was a step in the right direction. It would have to be enough for now. "Good," Isabel replied. "Good."
