Las Vegas, Late late Saturday Night

After talking to Sam the night before, Isabel had tried to dreamwalk Peter as soon as she'd gotten home. This time, she didn't get discouraged when she wasn't able to reach him. She knew it was only a matter of time until she did.

After spending way too long running around at work, Isabel finally got home and cleaned up. Picking up the familiar picture, she stretched out on her couch and closed her eyes. "Come on Peter. Be asleep for once."

Peter was actually asleep this time. Just like the last time Isabel dreamwalked him, he was in a hospital, his hair still fell in his face, and he was in his jeans/hoodie/trenchcoat combo.

He didn't notice Isabel at first. In this dream he mostly focused on being alone.

Isabel was going to just take a moment and wibble. Because seeing Peter alive was almost as amazing as walking into her parents' living room and seeing Max and Michael back from Antar.

"Hey stranger," she said finally, her eyes bright. "Long time no see."

Peter, still assuming he was dreaming, didn't react as strongly. "What are you doing here?"

"Debating kicking your ass now, or waiting till I actually see you in person," Isabel replied. "Do you have any idea what the last few months have been like for me? For Sam?"

"I'm dangerous," Peter said. He figured it was his guilt manifesting as Isabel. "I can't be around anyone."

With this much guilt and emo in the air, Isabel was leaning towards kicking his ass now. "Oh for heaven's sake Peter, you are the least dangerous person I know. But what happened was a horrible accident. It wasn't your fault."

"It was a nuclear explosion!" Peter said. Though her words threw him. Normally he didn't try to make himself feel better in his dreams. "It started, I couldn't stop it, and Nathan died!"

"Nathan is still in the hospital. He's hurt, drugged to the eyeballs, and like a true Petrelli is wallowing in just as much guilt as you seem to be," she told him. "I know this because I was in his head three days ago trying to figure out where the hell he was so I could get Wyatt or Max there to heal him. Your mother wasn't particularly helpful when I asked."

Things finally clicked. "Isabel? Is that actually you? Wait, how are you here?"

That was as much as Peter could comprehend. The rest was too big, and too much for Peter to hope for.

"Because Sam and I finally managed to figure out that you're alive, you dumbass," Isabel said as her eyes rolled out of her head and across the floor. "Do you know how long I've been waiting for you to sleep so I could get here?"

"If you're dreamwalking me - " The full impact was starting to hit Peter. Soft, still scared to get his hopes up, he asked, "Nathan?"

Isabel nodded, feeling her eyes fill up. She knew how much Nathan meant to Peter. "He's alive."

"You've seen him?" Peter asked, to be sure. "They told me he died. They told me he - it's really him?"

"Just in here," Isabel said, tapping a finger to her forehead. "Your mother wouldn't tell me where he was. But as of three days ago he was alive. He just needs someone to find him and heal him."

Peter felt his world tilt. He sunk down to the floor, propping himself up on the wall behind him. "He's alive. He's really alive."

The thought of Nathan dying had been too huge. Which was why it was only now, with confirmation that he was alive, that Peter was able to cry.

Isabel did something she'd wanted to do since she first appeared in Peter's dream. She slid down next to him and reached out to wrap her arms around him.

Peter clung to Isabel, both for the support and to keep her from vanishing. "Don't go. I don't have my powers. I can't come after you."

"I'm not going anywhere," Isabel promised, holding on just as tightly. "And if I do, you'd better believe, I'm going to be back. There's nothing that could keep me away."

She took a deep breath, letting some of the stress and grief she'd felt the last few months slip away.

"What do you mean you don't have your powers? Why didn't you come home? Where are you?" Those were just the first of many questions Isabel had.

Questions were good. Questions helped Peter stay focused on the here and now.

"There's an organization, The Company," Peter said. "They caught me at the hospital and brought me somewhere. I don't know where. They told me Nathan died. I killed him because I couldn't control my powers. They told me if I stayed with them they'd help me get rid of my powers so I wouldn't hurt anyone again."

"Bullshit," she said immediately. The Company, The Centre, they were the same damn thing as far as Isabel was concerned. "If they really wanted to help you, they would have told you the truth."

"No kidding," Peter said. Though, being Peter, he had to suggest, "Maybe they got it wrong?"

"Yes, a company with the ability to help you get rid of your powers is going to somehow get confused on whether or not a single patient in a hospital is alive or dead." She loved Peter dearly but sometimes he was just a little too willing to believe the best in people. "Especially when he has powers of his own. No, this was deliberate."

Peter hated to admit it, but Isabel was probably right. He figured it had to be Bob, though. No way could Elle have been in on lying to him.

"Do you know where he is?" Peter asked.

"No. Not yet," Isabel said. "He's so drugged up that I couldn't really get a clue about what hospital. But I'll keep trying till I do."

"He's not the same place I left him," Peter said. "They moved him. Or that's what they told me."

"I'm sure your mother did. Probably to the best hospital in the city. The problem is, there are a number of them that could qualify," she replied.

"I - I could find him," Peter said, thinking it out. "If I had my powers. But what if I go nuclear again?"

"Peter just think about it. It's a power like any other," Isabel said firmly. "After you picked up my powers, did you accidentally go around changing the color of things?"

"The TK took getting used to," Peter said.

"Fine, you've had three months to get used to them. Deal. Because you're getting out of where ever you are," she told him.

"What if I can't stop it again?" Peter asked.

"You'll stop. You were freaked out because of the visions. It cascaded out of your control." Isabel had spent a lot of time thinking about how and why this power had been so different then any other Peter had absorbed. It was the only explanation she could come up with.

Peter hadn't thought of it that way. "You think so?"

"I know so. You'd never do anything to hurt someone which means you're going to keep that particular power so locked up in your head, yo won't even be able to pop a bag of popcorn with it." Not that anyone would want to eat that popcorn, but it made her point.

"I could heal him," Peter said. "I could make him better."

"Yeah, you could," she prompted.

"I'll have to get off the meds," Peter said, starting to form a plan at which point all sane people became frightened. "Then get out. I think I can do it."

"What meds?" Isabel asked. "What do they do?"

"Control my powers," Peter said. "I can't do anything as long as I'm on 'em."

"Pierce had something similar when he grabbed Max," she said, remembering. "Maybe you don't need to wait for them to get out of your system. Do you know where you are? Wyatt could come get you."

Peter shook his head. "No clue. I was unconscious when they brought me in. I'll try to find out."

"Okay, that means the cavalry charge is on hold until you do." Which disappointed Isabel more then she wanted to think about and Sam was going to be very unhappy.

"Better get started then," Peter said. He went to hug Isabel one more time to sustain him until he saw her again. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."

Isabel returned the hug tightly. "No thanks necessary. I owed you one." Several even. "I'm calling Sam as soon as I wake up. Any messages you want me to pass on?"

"That I love him," Peter said, without even needing to think about it.

"I can do that," Isabel smiled. "He's going to be so happy. Just like me. I'm so glad to see you." She looked around the walls, still feeling responsible that he'd been here so long. "I'll be back tomorrow night. But in the meantime, you be careful. We only just got you back. We don't want to lose you again."

"I will. Promise." Peter gave Isabel one last squeeze. "I'd better get started. Thank you."

He stepped back and concentrated, forcing himself to wake up. He opened his eyes back in his cell at the Company. It was cold, stark, and felt more empty than ever.

Peter started figuring out what he needed to do in order to leave.

Isabel opened her eyes, smiled and immediately reached for her phone.

When Sam didn't answer, she left him a message.

Too keyed up to sleep, she flipped on the TV and began to laugh at the bad Skiffy movie.
