Las Vegas, Christmas Eve Morning

Isabel was finishing up wrapping a few last minute gifts before she and Wyatt headed out to Roswell for Christmas Eve with her family. But before they left for the insanity, there was one thing she needed his help with.

"Hey Wyatt? Can you come here for a minute?"

"Sure, what's up, babe?" Wyatt said, walking into the room when he heard her voice.

"Well," Isabel said, smiling as he came into the room. Six weeks post wedding and she was still in a bit of a happy newlywed haze. "Do you have a sleigh for all these gifts? Because otherwise I think you might have to make two trips back to my folks."

Which given the previous five years, really shouldn't be a surprise.

Wyatt looked over the pile of presents. "You know, there's a parallel dimension somewhere where there's an Isabel who buys just one gift per person," he teased.

"A hell dimension obviously," she grinned. "I suppose I could return some of yours if it's really that big a deal."

"No, you don't have to do that," Wyatt said with an answering grin. "But unless there's a Santa-themed casino I can run to to get a sleigh, I'm stuck with multiple orbs."

"Multiple trips it is because we're not going near anyplace that resembles a casino today. I actually have time off. I plan to enjoy it. But," Isabel said as she waved a hand to TK a small package over to her lap from the pile. "Maybe you can lighten the load by opening one early."

Wyatt eyed her with mock suspicion as he caught the box. "Letting me open a present early?" he said. "Maybe you are some alternate universe Isabel."

"Call it temporary insanity on my part," she laughed as she got to her feet. "Go ahead, open it."

Biting her lip, Isabel watched as he opened the small box which held a coffee mug.

"Merry Christmas."

Wyatt unwrapped the box and opened it up. For a moment he stared in confusion at the mug as his brain tried to wrap itself around what exactly it meant. Then he looked at Isabel, blinking. "You're pregnant?" he said.

Slowly Isabel nodded, trying to get a sense of how Wyatt felt about this. "About six weeks. Happy Honeymoon Baby?"

Wyatt felt...stunned. And then once his brain rebooted, very very very happy. He set the coffee mug down and stepped over to Isabel so he could wrap his arms around her, lifting her up into the air as he hugged her. "We're going to have a baby!" he exclaimed.

Ever since she'd done the math and realized what was going on, Isabel had been unable to avoid worrying about what Wyatt's reaction would be. Seeing his obvious happiness, she felt the tension she'd been carrying for the last few days dissolve.

"You're okay with this?" she asked, hugging him tightly. "I know we weren't planning to try for a while, but things happen for a reason. We can make this work."

"Of course I'm okay," Wyatt said. "I'll be done with school by June. We can make this work." True, it had been some nebulous time in the future that they figured they start a family, but maybe this was the universe's way of saying why wait?

Honestly they'd been through enough over the years that Carpe Diem as a life motto wasn't such a bad choice.

"We've got a lot to figure out," Isabel admitted, still holding on tightly. "But not today. Today is just for being excited. What do you think our odds are for a pixie girl?"

A certain literature-loving demon might agree. After flirting with both of them.

"Pretty good, I'd say," Wyatt murmured, kissing the top of her head. "If I didn't know any better I'd say she might have arranged this herself, impatient to get here."

That Farmvile buddy demon would have been a wonderful babysitter.

"If she can pull that off now, I think we're doomed when she's a teenager," she laughed. "Maybe that's the point we'll send her off to Fandom. It was good for us after all."

Wyatt made a face. "Not if they have her rooming with boys," he said. Because he remembered what he'd been like when he first came to Fandom, thank you very much.

"Double standard much? I managed just fine when I was rooming with Xander," Isabel pointed out. "Besides, she's going to be part witch, part Whitelighter, and part alien. She's going to be perfectly capable of kicking the ass of any boy, or girl for that matter, that needs it."

"She'll need it in Fandom," Wyatt said. OK, he was not going to think about their daughter facing down vampires and psychotic principals and weeping angels and all the other assorted other things Fandom had thrown at them over the years. In that way lay madness.

Then again, she'd probably make short work of all of them.

"Maybe it'll quiet down by then?" Then she remembered exactly what had happened just this past summer. "Forget, we'll home school."

"It still doesn't seem real. It is. But wrapping my brain around the whole idea is just...wow."

"Yeah, wow," Wyatt said, still having a little trouble entirely grasping it himself. A good wow, though.

"How are you going to tell your parents?" he said. He'd have to call Piper and tell her she was going to be a grandma as well. Sort of.

"Don't you mean how are WE going to tell my parents?" Isabel teased as she poked him in the side. "I do have more mugs. That seems the easiest."

"Do you have an uncle mug for Chris? And a great-grandpa one for Victor?" Wyatt asked. His grandfather was probably going to want to pour something stiffer than coffee into it though, once he found out there was going to be great- affixed to his title.

"Give me five minutes and I will," she promised. "Magic fingers and all. We'll tell them when we see them tomorrow."

"Do you think your mom will start knitting baby booties right then and there, or will she wait a day?" Wyatt said teasingly, slipping his hand down to press against her stomach.

"If it wasn't Christmas Eve, I think she'd be running out to buy all the baby things." Isabel slid her own hand down to rest over Wyatt's, feeling ridiculously content and happy. "I think it's a little to early for her to start kicking at you."

"Hey, I had powers from the womb, so don't be surprised if weird things start happening," Wyatt warned her. He really kinda hoped she'd get the protective shield he'd given his mother. Just in case.

"If she starts magically hiding my tabasco because she doesn't like the taste of it, she's going to be grounded at birth," she laughed.

"Well, I turned my mother's powers into harmless fireworks and flowers, and then swapped her powers with my dad's," Wyatt pointed out. There could be some wacky wiccan-alien hijinks in their future.

"We so doomed." No they weren't. It just meant life would never be boring. "Although you'd probably enjoy having me be the cosmic taxi service for a change."

"Maybe," Wyatt said. "But I also made my dad feel all of Mom's morning sickness, too."

"I probably wouldn't complain about that," she admitted with cheerful honesty. "I'll bring you peppermint tea and saltines if you need them."

"I think I only did it because my parents were fighting or something," Wyatt said. "Hopefully we won't have that problem." He nuzzled her neck.

"Feed me Tabasco laced chocolates and I'll do my best to keep the bad raging pregnancy hormones under control," Isabel promised, tipping her head to the side to give him more neck to nuzzle. "Right now though, there's lots of good hormones."

Wyatt snickered. "Be right back," he said. "I'm going to buy stock in that as soon as possible."
