Newtech City, Tuesday all day

When you're pregnant with a half-alien, half witch/Whitelighter baby, regular prenatal care just wasn't going to cut it. Which was why Isabel and Wyatt had been making regular trips to the more alien friendly future for the last nine months.

But now the big day was here and Miss Victoria Maureen Halliwell was ready to make her appearance.

Wyatt was glad they weren't at the Manor for this. Not that he thought they really needed a hospital, since if anything went wrong, he had his Whitelighter abilities. But at least this hospital was better for unexpected wacky whitelighter-alien-witch baby hijinks.

Mainly he was glad because he knew what happened when a baby was born in the Manor, like he and Phoebe had been, and he really didn't want some evil future incarnation of his daughter showing up one day. Of course, if they sent her to Fandom High, that was practically guaranteed to happen.

"You doing okay?" he asked for the 10,000,000th time.

Being in Newtech City was a relief. It's not that Isabel had been worried about anything medical. Between Wyatt and in an extreme emergency, Max - who was waiting anxiously at home with their parents- they had any medical emergency covered. No, she was relieved because she'd heard the stories of past births at the Manor and was relieved they were avoiding any wacky shenanigans or property destruction that Isabel would have to alien-fu to repair while taking care of a newborn. Priorities. Isabel had them.

"No," Isabel grumbled. "Because this stupid level is impossible."

Guess who was playing Candy Crush in between contractions.

"I can't believe you're still playing that game," Wyatt said. Labor! Baby!

"It's a good distraction," Isabel replied. Except for the part where now she was out of lives. "Otherwise, I'll just stare at the clock obsessively waiting for the next contraction."

"How long until we get to the point where I get to say 'push' and 'remember your breathing' like a good father-to-be?" Wyatt said with a grin.

"Probably...pretty soon," she said after a moment's pause. "They're definitely getting stronger."

"I'm kinda surprised she hasn't just orbed out," Wyatt said. "I almost did."

Yet another reason for a hospital that could handle such things.

"She's a little more patient then you are?" Isabel laughed before reaching for Wyatt's hand and holding on tightly. "Although I'm starting to think impatience might not be such a bad thing."

Wyatt held her hand between his and lifted it to his face to give it a kiss. "Think she's ready?" he said.

"Soon." But no so soon that Isabel couldn't take a minute to tip her head to rest on his shoulder. "I love you."

"Love you, too," Wyatt said, turning his head so he could kiss her forehead. "You're amazing, you know that, right?"

"Tell me that after I make it through labor. Hopefully without blaming you for everything," she teased gently.

"Well, you couldn't have done it without me," Wyatt said. "So I'll take part of the blame. I'm just lucky she hasn't made me feel your contractions."

He had to shudder a little at the thought.

"There's still some time." And given the way Isabel flinched, maybe it wasn't such a bad idea after all.

"Ow!" Wyatt exclaimed, then looked puzzled. That had to be a coincidence, right?

Don't look at Isabel. The wacky witchy Whitelighter genes came from his side of the family.

"What? I didn't squeeze your hand that hard."

[My icons expired.]

And aliens neeeeever had any hijinks.

"I felt a weird cramp," Wyatt said, eyeing Isabel's belly suspiciously.

[Mine tooooooo.]

Only when they drink. Then things got interesting.

"Are you sure it wasn't lunch?"

"I didn't eat anything," Wyatt said. He'd been far too anxious to eat, not that he'd admit that.

"Well that's not good. You need to eat so you don't pass out on me."

Isabel, still not putting two and two together, probably because she was in this thing called labor.

Another contraction, the strongest so far, had Isabel hissing out a long breath. "Things are definitely moving along."

Wyatt doubled over, clutching at his stomach. "I'm sorry I said anything," he groaned. "Someone is already working mischief."

Now she got it. Sorry, but she was going to laugh.

"Wyatt, I love you dearly. But I'm the one getting the epidural. You're on your own."

"Don't laugh," Wyatt pouted. "This sucks! Our daughter is evil."

Victoria did not have evil facial hair!!!

"She's just trying to help you understand what I'm going through."
