Room 406, very, very, early Saturday morning

Morning light was only just starting to shine through the window when Isabel woke up. The first thought that crossed her mind was dorm room? This was followed by a succession of feelings, warm, nice, comfy. Then the memories of the night before started to replay themselves and she whimpered.

This is Isabel wishing that the ground would open up and swalllow her. There's no question of who's snuggled up to her back. The memories are quite clear on that. The memories are quite clear on exactly what she tried to do to him.

There's warm skin against her back. With a sigh, Isabel realized exactly what she was wearing. Figuring she'd be better able to handle upcoming conversation if she was dressed, Isabel tried to slip out of Jack's arms and out of the bed.

Brain still fogged with sleep, the only thing that registered was that there was space where there shouldn't be, and he followed her, grumbling under his breath as he drew her back against him.

Okay, time to rethink that plan Isabel realized as she wound up with her back was once again snug against Jack's chest. With a small sigh, she twisted her body, rolling over and wind up face first with a sleeping Jack. "Hey," she quietly, "Morning."

That managed to get through and drag him fully awake. Blinking sleepily, he smiled at her. "Morning."

Isabel was pretty sure that her face had to be fourteen different shades of red given the heat she could feel in her cheeks. Closing her eyes, she tipped her head forward to rest against his shoulder. "I am so sorry," she quietly.

Jack freed a hand and smoothed it across her hair. "There's nothing to apologise for," he said softly.

"Not even for being drunk and stupid and attempting to maul you?" she asked with small laugh.

"Nope," he replied firmly. "The drunk wasn't your fault, you certainly weren't stupid, and," he gently tilted her head up, still smiling softly at her, "you're welcome to maul me whenever you like."

Isabel smiled back and tipped her head forward and rested her forehead against his. "Someday I'm going to look back and tell myself I was an idiot. but you know I can't."

"I know," he said, dropping a kiss on her nose. "My loss. And you won't, you know, look back and think you're an idiot." Shifting slightly, he folded one arm under his head, and slid the other around her, his hand settling in the small of her back. "You want hearts and flowers, and that's not something I can give you."

"Oh I will. Someday when I'm old and grey," Isabel chuckled. "How could I not?" She shifted position as well, mirroring Jack's position with an arm under her head. Her free hand rested against his chest, the feel of his heart beating under strong under it. "Can I ask why that is? Why you won't get serious with someone?"

"You can ask me anything, you know that." Moving his hand across her back in slow arcs, he considered her question. "It's not won't, like I sat down and made a decision." He shrugged one shoulder. "Sex is just fun, it doesn't really mean anything, most of the time."

"But doesn't that get cold after a while?" she asked softly. "I mean don't you want to have something more? I look at my folks, and I realize that I want that one day."

"Depends on where you end up," he answered with a grin which faded as he looked down at her. "Maybe? It's not something I've ever really thought about," he said slowly. "I'm not saying it's not possible, it's just outside my experience. Things are a bit different where I come from."
