Outside Meerkat Cabin for now

After trying out for a cheerleading position and then laughing with Aeryn at John and Greg's antics, and talking to Elizabeth, Isabel returned to Meerkat and took a long nap. She finally ventured out again as the sun was going down. Stopped on the steps overlooking the other cabins, she tried to figure out where to go. She wasn't looking for anyone in particular, really.

"It's okay, if a guy with a chainsaw comes out, I'll distract him and we can make a quick getaway," Greg promised. "Besides, I wanted to talk to you about something, anyway."

"We'll distract him," she countered. "I'd rather not be the defenseless blonde. She's usually one of the first victims." Isabel bumped against Greg's shoulder as she started to walk. "About what?"

"It's a nice day today," he stalled. "And I would never think of you as a defenseless blonde, because I remember having blue hair way too well."

"That's my Stickbug defense. I still need to work on the chainsaw defense though." Isabel smiled as they entered the trees. "This is so different then Roswell."

"And San Gabriel," he agreed, nodding. "More humid. More lush. Prettier."

"Exactly, Roswell is so dry and just...brown," she agreed. "Have you lived in San Gabriel all your life?"

"Born and raised there, yup," he said, nodding. "I'm not staying there for college, I think. Going to go somewhere less dry. Maybe in upstate California."

"That would be nice. I've never been up to Northern California but from the pictures I've seen it looks gorgeous. Do you ski?" she asked.

"Not well," he admitted. "But I snowboard, kind of."

"I haven't tried that. It looks like fun though," she smiled. "Most of my time skiing was spent trying to stay upright."

"See, most of mine was spent on the ground because I failed at that," Greg said with a grin, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"I said I tried to stay upright," Isabel laughed. "It doesn't mean I succeeded. I finally gave up and spent a lot of time sitting in the lodge."
