Room 406, early Thursday morning

Isabel moved through her room, adding the last few things to her bag, the phone held against her ear.

"I'm glad you called. But you shouldn't have gotten up so early."

After hanging up the phone, Isabel stuck it in her purse, then eyed Annie. "Okay, I hate to do this to you. But you're going to have to go in the carrier now. It's almost time to go."
