Keeping busy was one way not to think. Between multiple common rooms and library, class and helping out Charlie, and a pleasant lunch of ice cream, Isabel has managed to avoid thinking about what was bothering her.

Tonight, the distraction was the gothic romance John had recommended to her in the library yesterday.

The door was open.
Isabel had reluctantly left Jack in his room with Cedric. She'd wanted to stay, afraid his return was just a dream, but she knew that both Jack and Cedric needed to talk. Besides, she had to make a call.

After much squeeing, and a little bit of worrying, Isabel hung up the phone and stared at the ceiling, thinking over the last few days. The barbeque for the Fourth had been a blast. Goofing in the water with Cedric was fun, and it seemed like Karal enjoyed learning to swim. It was good to spend time with Aeryn since there was so little time left. Isabel was glad to hear that her advice to Dick had helped, and even more glad that Bridge would talk to Steve Peter. Then, there were fireworks. They were mostly literal, but still very enjoyable.

The door was open.
Peter had been quiet during the walk back from the barbeque, and he slipped away to his room as soon as they reached the fourth floor. Reluctantly Isabel let him go.

She let herself into her own room and flopped down on the bed, thinking back over the last twenty four hours. The the beach had been lots of fun. Even if some conversations were decidedly unhappy. Fortunately other conversations made up for it. Breakfast had been entertaining and she'd been able to help Aravis.

All in all, life was good. She should be happy, but Isabel couldn't forget how quickly August was approaching.

Flipping on the radio, she stared at the ceiling.

Monday had been busy with workshops. Tuesday was library, dress shopping and a surprise call from her mom inviting Isabel to drive up to Baltimore and spend a day or two with with her parents while her dad met with a client.

She'd returned late Thursday night so she wouldn't miss Flight or the Fun Run and boy was she glad she did. Although of course now Isabel was wondering who was going to buy dinner.

There wasn't much to unpack, so Isabel quickly hung it up, then reached for the novel she'd picked up at the hotel.

The door was open.
So far the trip had been great.

But there was still plenty of things to see before the roadtrippers returned to Fandom tonight.

[NFB due to distance]
As always, Monday's workshops were entertaining. Afterwards, Isabel hauled her stuff back to the dorms, responded to an email from Parker, and then finally went down to Jack's room to retrieve the TV and DVD player he'd told her she could have. And that's when she found the letter.

Currently Isabel was attempting to rearrange furniture to accomadate the TV but she was occasionally distracted by the paper lying folded on her desk.

The door was open.
Library with visits from Anders and Karal

Astronomy 101 with Cedric

Campfire with Katara, Tori, Charlie McGee

Flight and talking to Anakin and Gavin

Pix Spam to Parker
It was late when Isabel finally came in from the campfire and she was proud of herself for staying out in the dark as long as she did. As far as Friday's went, today had been a success. Flight had been fun. She enjoyed spending time with Steve Peter and she'd gotten her letter mailed.

Still a bit too keyed up to sleep, she cleaned up then curled up on her bed to read.

[ooc: For a phone call, but open]
After getting a few hours sleep this morning and then a handwavey because OMG RL kicked my ass today trip to town to talk to the sheriff and have ice cream with Peter, Isabel returned to the cabin well before dark and sat down to write a letter.

Dear Jack,

Hi. I'm not sure if you'll ever read this, but I stopped by the post office today and Katara told me about the mailboxes. Supposedly they can reach any time, any place. So I'm hoping a letter addressed to Jack Harkness, c/o The Time Agency, 51st Century will actually reach you. A girl can dream can't she? But if you do get this? You better write back.

Workshops have been interesting. I crashed the flight simulator in flight. Oops... But I did get to have some fun on a help line in Stupid People. Yes, I'm taking a workshop called How to Deal With Stupid People. Sadly smacking them is not an answer.

I'm on library duty again. Tuesdays now. We'll be cleaning up after the mess caused by graduation and the school blowing up for weeks.

Mostly though I've just been spending lots of time hanging out with people. There was another luau. Remember that last year? How much fun it was? I made Cedric another Hawaiian shirt. We're looking out for one another just like we promised.

There's been wackiness. Poor Gavin and Luke might never recover. There's also been fun at Theodoric's. And don't get too excited, but I had a sort of date. With Peter. It was fun.

I can hear you saying "I told you so" from here.

Shut up.

All in all things are pretty good. Except people keep leaving.

And well, I miss you. But you know that. Don't forget it.

Love,

Isabel
At some point Isabel would probably have to apologize to any of her cabinmates for the shrieking. But it was a perfectly natural reaction to stepping into a shower while still half asleep and finding out that the water was ice cold. Fortunately the hot water heater was accessible and Isabel was able to use her powers to heat up the water it contained.

After her shower she left a note on the bathroom door, See me if you want hot water for a shower. Isabel

Heading back to her alcove and relieved to find her books were no longer clucking, Isabel sprawled on her bed and thought back over the last few days.

The good - Campfires, spending time with old friends, and meeting new people.

The bad - Three workshops in one day. Including one with Creepy Guy. Missing people.

Passing a hand over her hair, Isabel made sure it was dry and then tried to figure out what to do for the day. Saying good-bye to Sam was a must but Isabel was more then willing to delay that as long as possible. Realizing it was Wednesday, Isabel decided to drop by the library and see what was happening there and if there was going to be a summer schedule.

[ooc: will be a linkdrop when I get some time later. Cabinmates can handwave asking her to heat up the water, otherwise I'm around (if a bit slowish due to RL) Um yeah, plans have changed. AFK till around 4ish EST.]
