Despite waking up battered and sore, and then having to face an angry Jack. It had actually been a great day. But a pleasant evening outside, somehow resulted in her gaining a fox as a roommate when she realized on her way back in that Jack couldn't open the door to his room without opposable thumbs. Still shaking her head, she opened the door to her room and let him inside.

Jack opened his eyes to stare up at her when she patted his head, then closed them again, sighing sadly, when she left him there.

As the lights went out he sighed again, louder.

"Good night Jack!" Isabel said, starting to feel just a little bad.

He sighed again, this time with just a hint of a whine, one very small fox, all alone in the dark.

Isabel rolled her eyes. "Come here you big dope."

Jack leapt off the bed and bounded across to her, curling up in the space behind her knees. He raised his head to look at her out of eyes that glowed slightly, ears tipped forward in question.

"That's good," Isabel smiled, reaching down to pat him. "Thank you." She yawned and put her head back down. "Good night Jack."

He snuggled against her, closed his eyes, and promptly fell asleep.
