Meerkat Cabin, Isabel's Alcove, After lunch

After lunch Isabel faced the fact that packing couldn't be put off any longer. Her bag was open on her bed as she sorted through her clothes.

Peter knocked at the door of the cabin. "Would a Stickbug be allowed to enter?" he called.

"I'd be in trouble if they weren't," Isabel laughed as she opened the door. "Hi Peter, what's up? Come on in."

"That's very true," Peter said with a grin. He entered the cabin slightly tentatively. "I feel like I'm entering sacred territory or something. But I heard that you were going home, and I wanted to say goodbye and good luck."

"The stickbug stepped carefully as it entered the territory of it's mortal enemy, the Meerkat," Isabel said formally, imitating the announcer of Wild Kingdom. "I am. And thank you. I really appreciate it."

"Watching for booby traps or secret weapons, the Stickbug pays close attention to his surroundings," Peter replied with a grin. "How long are you going to be gone for? And should we ready a rescue party just in case?"

"Suddenly he stops, freezing to blend into his surroundings as the lone Meerkat wanders past," she chuckled. "I should be back a week from Saturday. The rescue party is already on stand-by. It's pretty sizeable and formidible. I'm very assured. Talk to your Stickbug brethren if you want in."

"I shall bring it up at our next High Council," Peter said, nodding. "It's too bad you have to miss the last week of the cabins though. They've been so much fun."

"There's a Stickbug High Council? Why am I not surprised," Isabel laughed. "I will miss the cabins, but I'll miss the people more."

"Oh, no, of course not. We don't have such a thing," Peter said, shaking his head innocently. "I know what you mean though. I missed everyone here very much. It makes it nice when you come back though."

"Sure," she said. "I bet you do and it's where you plan all your pranks." Isabel smiled, "I'll be counting the hours until I'm back. It can't come fast enough."

"I wouldn't know anything like that," Peter said, grinning. "We're simply concerned with the welfare of all." He nodded. "I do hope it goes better than expected, and I know we'll all be happy to have you back here next weekend."

Isabel nodded, "My fingers are crossed. And maybe when I get back we can all go out and celebrate. Possibly by dancing if Willow's successful in her crusade."

"That would be brilliant," Peter replied. "She seems to be very set on it. I don't know if she's had much success yet though. If we haven't figured it out by the time you're back, we should all team up and force Coach Bluth to give in."

"I'm all for it," Isabel said. "Remind her that whatever she needs me to do, I will."

Peter laughed. "I'll pass it along to her certainly." He bowed to her. "I shan't keep you from your packing. Have as good a trip as possible and know you'll be missed."

"Thank you Peter," she said, blushing at the bow. "I'll see you when I get back."

"I look forward to it," Peter replied with a smile as he left the cabin.
