Meerkat Cabin, Isabel's Alcove, After lunch

After lunch Isabel faced the fact that packing couldn't be put off any longer. Her bag was open on her bed as she sorted through her clothes.

[ooc: open to all. Slow like whoa throughout the afternoon because RL packing needs to be done.]

"Yayyy, Team Fandom!" Parker grinned, then nodded. "I finally got him on the phone on Tuesday, he's doing okay. Guilted him a lot. Hopefully he'll call you back sooner rather than later. And I, um. Sent Logan a plane ticket to Vegas, while I was at it. He can collect our winnings for us."

"Good," Isabel said. "I'll call again when I get back. Hopefully I'll get him then." She raised an eyebrow at Parker. "You did? Are you hoping he'll meet up with a showgirl and stay there?"

"Best case scenario? Sure. Worst case? At least he's gone for a weekend, and Angel has to seriously think about keeping him on as an employee in a dimension that's not his own." Parker made a face. "In which case, there'll be more paperwork I have to ask Angelo for. But at least I'll quit wondering about it." She sighed, and got to her feet. "Well, I hope you have a good time. And maybe nothing will invade while you're gone. You never know."

"I couldn't imagine doing that," Isabel said. "Even with all the times I've wanted to just forget about everyhing and be normal. I don't think I could go somewhere that different. Even if it's still pretty much the same. Still, it's good of you to help them out."
She nodded, "If anything invades, I want pictures. Oh, and I mentioned rafting to Jack. He's in. He's going to talk to Cedric and then, if Cedric's okay with it, Sam."

"Yay! So now there's just making sure no-one tells Jarod enough to tip him off before then." Parker grinned. "Oh, won't that be fun. Cedric and Jack and Sam, if they all agree." She shook her head, and tapped a hand on Isabel's suitcase. "Call when you get there, or text me. And I'll e-mail or text you if anything exciting happens."

"Well I did point out they'd most likely wind up sharing a tent. So it could be interesting," Isabel said. "I will. And I'll make you the same promise I made Peter. I will do my best to make sure there are no traumatic emails saying good-bye this time."

"Thank God." Parker reached over and gave her an abrupt, one-armed hug. "Right. Stay in touch, and by the time you get back, we'll be in the dorms again. And I'll probably miss you."

Isabel squeezed Parker quickly. Touched at the show of affection. "I will. And same here. Maria and Liz are great, but it's just not the same."

"Bring them here sometime. I want to meet them." Parker stepped away, smiling. "Right. The beach is calling my name. And you have packing to finish. Have fun, call, yadda." She grinned. "And I'll bring my clothes by when you get back."

"That would be entertaining. Liz would be all scientific and Maria would overdose on cypress oil." Isabel shoved an extra pair of sandals in the bag. "I'll see you next week."
