Meerkat Cabin, Isabel's Alcove, After lunch

After lunch Isabel faced the fact that packing couldn't be put off any longer. Her bag was open on her bed as she sorted through her clothes.

[ooc: open to all. Slow like whoa throughout the afternoon because RL packing needs to be done.]

"You are," he agreed. "And don't think I don't appreciate it." Following her finger to the bear, he couldn't help smiling. "I'll take the bear. He can keep an eye on me while you're away, give me something to snuggle with at night."

"Somehow I don't think you'll be lacking for someone to snuggle with if you really wanted," Isabel pointed out. "But he's yours for as long as you need him."

"True," he agreed, but he stretched out an arm, nearly falling off the bed, and snagged the bear off the dresser, settling it on his chest. "Has it got a name?"

"Bear?" she said sheepishly. "I never named him. Xander brought him back for me from London when he went over Spring Break."

"So this hat and little jacket are what, some kind of London military outfit?" he asked, poking at the bear's hat. "And I can't believe you haven't given him a name. Poor thing."

"He's a palace guard," Isabel explained. "I'm terrible I know. What would you suggest?"

"Palace guard, huh," he said thoughtfully, turning the bear over, examining it from all angles. "I have no idea. Let me think about it while you're away, try and come up with something."

"Sounds like a plan then," she laughed. "I'm sure you'll come up with a good one."

"I'll try, though in all fairness I should admit I still haven't named my plant." Feigning worry, he smoothed the bear's fur. "I hope they don't fight. Maybe I'd better introduce them before you leave, just in case they don't get along."

Isabel laughed. "Jack, I would be really, really worried if the bear and the plant started going round. But then again, it's Fandom. It's always a possibility."

"Exactly." He jumped up and tucked the bear under his arm. "I'll go make sure Fandom weirdness isn't going to lead to the strangest ever fight in my alcove." He bent down to kiss her. "You look after yourself, and we're all here if you need us."

"I will," she said, standing up to give him a hug. "Take care of yourself and I'll see you next week."

"I'll be counting the days," he said, half seriously, as he hugged her back. "Me and the bear, that is."

He let her go and backed out her alcove, waving the bear's arm in farewell, then snuck back out of Meerkat and headed back to Seahorse, the bear held carefully in the crook of his arm.
