Meerkat, Isabel's Alcove, early afternoon

Isabel didn't get in until late Friday night after spending the evening swimming at the beach. That means her plans for a hot and humid Saturday included sleeping in and and then some brain candy. Sprawled on her bed, she's re-reading the newest pirate/ninja novel and snickering.

Her curtain is open.

After leaving the bathroom, Aeryn passes by Isabel's alcove on the way to her own. There's a thought of omgtherewerepeoplehere and as soon as John's settled in her own bed, she comes by and greets Isabel with, "You're not singing."

Isabel tried very hard not to snicker. She was mostly successful. Mostly. "No, I'm not. Should I be?"

"There was singing in the gym this morning. I thought everyone would still be doing that," she says, and she's ignoring the snicker, yes.

"I've been here all day. I slept in, got up, showered." Yes, there was blushing. "And have been here reading ever since. But Dawn said Dean was weird this morning. Maybe that's a part of it?"

"Probably," she agrees, and manages not to hit her head against any hard surfaces. It's a feat. "Something has to be going on. But um. At least it's not everyone."

"Yay for being the sane ones," Isabel laughed. "I'm probably going to take a walk in a bit. Just to see what's up."

"If you come back singing, I'm moving back to the dorms early," she warns.

"If I come back singing? Do me a favor and knock me out before you leave," she grinned. "I'd prefer to keep my public humliations to a minimum."

"Not a problem," she says, and opens her mouth to say I could lock you somewhere, too, but the only lock is where she just came from and she's going to close her mouth now. She also likes to keep pulic humiliations to a minimum.

"Thank you," Isabel said sincerely. Thinking all the while that it was true. Friends look out for you. Real friends will knock you when you need it. Okay, maybe that wasn't the way the saying really went. But it was appropriate for Fandom.

"That would be twice in two days I've had to do that to someone," she says, remembering. "That would be a record, even for me."

"You had to knock someone out?" she asked. "Who? Why?"

"It was the only way to get Callisto to sleep," she shrugs.

"She wasn't?" Isabel asked, concerned because an overtired and cranky Cal probably wouldn't appreciate any of Greg's attempts at humor.

Aeryn doesn't say why, just shrugs. "That's fixed now," she says. "If she comes looking for me? That's why."
