Room 406, early Sunday afternoon

Once Greg had left after some morning snuggles, Isabel showered and dressed for the day before pulling out the supplies for the small surprise she wanted to work on. It wasn't quite as flashy as skywriting, but the sentiment was there. Unfortunately she quickly realized she was going to need help. After leaving some messages, Isabel started to give herself a pedicure while she waited for the calvary to arrive.

"Yup, the most we have to worry about is what the radio says, and that usually involves the word 'cute'. So I really can't complain," Isabel grinned back. "It's when they start using euphemisms that there's a problem."

"Euphemisms?" Dawn asked.

"Euphemisms," she said. "Barbossa especially. I'm trying to think of one he's used. But basically in his mind? Anything odd, is another way of saying they had sex." Isabel looked as Dawn holding the henna paint. "I fear what he's going to say about this."

"Um, that I painted you so you could go show your naked body parts to your boyfriend?" Dawn grinned at Isabel and started painting on a butterfly. "Maybe you could tell him you were studying art?"

"In his mind? He'll be wondering if there was girlkissy going on." Isabel shook her head. "The sad thing is. If he's particularly entertaining? I'll probably laugh instead of being outraged."

"I know," Dawn grinned, adding antennae, "we let them get away with so much when they're being cute."

"Barbossa's a hoot," she said. "I gave him face paint tattoos in art studio one day. And you should have heard some of the speeches he gave in my speech class."

"I don't think I've met him," Dawn said, "but he gives good advice."

"He does doesn't he? He was the one that told Greg to try skywriting," she said.

"We should do something nice for him," Dawn decided, as she drew a little daisy, using the molecule as a vine.

"Well I already dropped off a bottle of rum for him last week. But he probably wouldn't be adverse to more," Isabel said, nodding. "And I'm pretty sure he likes pie."

"Now, if we could make a rum pie, we'd really be on to something. Maybe with meringue." She finished, and examined her work. "Okay, lie still so you don't smudge."

"I do have a recipe for a rum cake, but I'm not sure how well meringue will work with it." She wrinkled her nose trying to imagine the taste. "I won't move. It needs to sit for a while to set in."

"Maybe with rum topping?" Dawn suggested. "You want water or a magazine or something?"

"There's Nora Roberts book on my desk if you can hand that to me. Otherwise I'm okay," Isabel smiled. "Jack brought a ton of Chinese food by before."

Dawn handed the book over, but looking a little green at the mention of food. "That was nice of Jack."

Isabel flexed her leg and waved her right ankle. "He's finally feeling better. So he came up to help out. He did this foot."

"Looks good." Dawn approved. "So, other than showing off the painting, what are you and Greg doing on your date?"

"Probably grab dinner and town and head down to the beach," she said. "Going swimming last week was fun. We might do it again."

"Well there's still a few weeks left in the summer," Isabel pointed out. "We can always go again."

Dawn nodded. "I'm gonna go lie down again, but if you need anything, call me, okay? Have fun, and let me know how it goes."
