Isabel woke up and quietly got ready for class, mindful of Xander still sleeping in the next bed. She was really starting to wonder if Speech class was worth it. If she dropped, her Thursdays would be completely free, well unless Student Council started to meeting regularly then.

Thinking of Student Council reminded her of conversation with Peter last night. She was glad things were okay now, even if it meant that one more person knew her secret.

Grabbing her coat and bag, she headed towards the door, intent on stopping by the Perk to get a coffee before class. She opened the door and stopped dead. There were chickens, Muppet chickens, all over the hallway. Isabel attempted to slam the door, but before she could, several of the large, noisy chickens flew into the room.

"Watch it! You almost hit me." She almost let go as the chicken pecked at her. "Ouch!"

The chicken, not amused with being pulled out from under the bed turned and shook her tailfeathers at Isabel.

"Don't you pull attitude with me, you glorified puppet. I'll pluck you and make a nice featherbed." Caught in her battle with the chicken, Isabel didn't notice the magazine that had been pulled out from under the bed.

Xander, who had fired blind without looking under the bed due to the whole not-wanting-his-face-pecked-off thing, noticed the magazine, and, non-pecked face turning a lovely pale mauve color, scrambled to shove it back under the bed.
