Parker reached out a leg, and bumped it against Isabel's, watching her face. "Okay. I'm glad you were being more careful than I knew about, then. And... yeah, I think you hit a Guy Button there. The reverse kind of protectiveness is fine, but it takes a while for most guys to work it out in their heads when it's us protecting them." She tapped her fork against the plate, and said softly, "If you don't know, then it's not over yet. Or at least make it better than it is."
