Room 406, Evening

After spending the weekend hibernating, Isabel finally managed to get out and socialize. She'd met Door and talked to Jaye while hanging posters for the Student Council elections. She'd also been happy to find out that she was picked to be a library aide. It seemed like things were finally looking up after last week. Finally returning to her room, Isabel picked up her reading for Interstellar Relations and settled in for the night.

[The door's closed but knockable.]

"True," she nodded seriously. "There might be a malleting. So back to the original question, now expanded for clarity. Will you be running for StuCo again?"

"I answered that. Yes, I'm running," Peter said. "Without a boyfriend."

"It's late, I missed it the first time around," she said rolling her eyes. "Are you going to run on the game night platform again?"

"Completely understandable," Peter said. "I have no clue what my campaign will be yet, but probably not the game nights. I'm happy to help you with them again if you get in, though."

"Thanks!" Isabel smiled. "I'm not sure I'll focus on the game nights either. I might just stick with the more generic 'You had fun for six months didn't you?' Actually longer if you count the trip to the ballgame and the Fourth of July party I arranged."

"Yep. We both have proof of how good we can be when it comes to getting things set up," Peter said. "We can let our actions speak for themselves."

"Our actions and cupcakes."

"True, past history and some minor bribery should work well," she agreed. "We'll have to start baking this weekend."

"I'm not baking. I want to win, not poison the voters," Peter said. "I was thinking J,GoB."

"But what about the homemade touch? You're trying to say 'Look, I took the time to make this for you. I'll take the time to look out for your interests on StuCo'," Isabel pointed out, horrified. "I can bake, you can...do the dishes."

"I can do dishes as a method of looking out for people's interests," Peter said. "It's a deal."

"Perfect then. Saturday evening maybe? The common room?" she asked. "I'll get the supplies. Unless you and the hypothetical boyfriend, or the very real girlfriend have a date?"

"Nope. I'm free this Saturday," Peter said. "I'll bring a dish cloth."

"And I'll make sure there's Palmolive in the kitchen. In addition to cleaning dishes, it softens your hands. At least according to Madge."

[and if you don't get that reference, well, I'm just dating myself as a child of the 70s then]

"Who's Madge?" Peter - who was born in 1990 - asked. His mun has vague memories of her from the 80's, though, and thinks that dating yourself as a child of any decade would be weird. And probably illegal.

"A character from the Palmolive commercial. She was a manacurist and used to soak peoples' hands in it." Isabel made a face, "I watched way too much TV when I was little."

"Ah, okay," Peter said. "I read a lot and watched too many cartoons. I must have missed out on the dish washing commercials. Or ignored them."

"I'll admit this only because you're one of my best friends. I was addicted to The Price is Right," she said sheepishly.

"Everyone watches The Price Is Right at some point," Peter said. "That's why everyone knows about the 'closest without going over' rule."

"No, I was really addicted," Isabel grinned. "I had to watch every day. I wanted to be one of the models when I grew up."

"Dork," Peter said cheerfully.

"I am," she nodded. "And if you tell anyone I'll have to do...something."

"How many people do you know who are dorkier than me?" Peter said. "Besides Greg. Your dorkiness is safe with me."

"Hey live my personal dork out of this. Although you're right. Aren't you King Dork at least according to Jaye?"

"That's Jaye. She's nuts. You can't trust her," Peter said.

"She's nice. And funny. I don't see why you can't get along. You bicker like Max and I," Isabel said as the mun died of meta.
