Room 406, morning

Isabel was torn being being relieved she didn't have to meet Max until later, and utterly terrified that he was going to run into someone that would let the truth out when she wasn't there to run interference. Still, despite a few tense moments, yesterday had been fun. Although it probably helped that Jack came along to dinner to act as a buffer. They'd had fun, laughed a lot, and then she's walked Max back to the hotel. After a stop to check up on Jack and his worries about Sam, she returned to the room to pass out for the night.

For now Isabel is relaxing and doing some reading for Interstellar Relations. The door is open.

Peter knocked on the door, still looking panicked about yesterday. "Hey, Isabel. Can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Of course," she said putting aside her book. "Come on in. What's up? Getting stressed because Zero's parents are here?"

"That doesn't even rate on the stress meter right now unfortunately," Peter said, closing the door. "Norman Osborn is here. Bad, bad, evil man. Here."

Osborn? The name sounded vaguely familiar but Isabel couldn't remember where she'd heard it. "Why is he here?" she asked, figuring that was a good place to start. "And do we need to get people together?"

"When you were in my dreams, he was the big, green, evil guy," Peter said. "He's here as my 'parent.' He said he wanted to make a point about being able to get me anywhere. I don't think he's going to do anything now, though." There may have been more hope than certainty in that statement.

Isabel remembered that. She also remembered how much he had seemed to scare Peter. "So basically he's looking to mess with your head."

"And doing a very good job of it," Peter said. "He's completely nuts, but he's very, very smart and plans very, very well. If he's here right now, he has plans for me."

"Then we make plans of our own," Isabel said firmly. "There has to be something that can be done to protect you."

"I've beaten him a few times," Peter said, trying not to focus on the enhancements Obsorb may have received from failed SHIELD experiments. "But my aunt isn't safe. My friends aren't safe. If he knows how to get here, he can come back any time he wants and hurt someone I care about. He already saw me with Zero and I've warned her to stay away from him. I wanted to warn you, too."

"Look at ti this way. If he's here, that means right now your aunt is safe. And when he leaves, god, I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe Fury can help?" she asked, making a face. "I know you probably don't want anything to do with him but if it keeps her safe? As for me, I'll keep my eyes open and definitely steer clear if I see him around." Thanks for the warning.

"I already called SHIELD last night. But he can get around them if he really wants. He's done it before," Peter said. "I'm scared, Isabel."

"Don't borrow trouble," Isabel said, despite being mildly freaked by Peter admitting he was scared. "If they're looking out for her, it's a start. Everyone here? We'll look out for each other. And we'll deal. Just like we did last weekend, just like we've done with everything else."

"Thanks," Peter said. "Hearing that helps a lot. And, really, I don't think he would come back here. Not where people would be prepared for him and he knows I'd warn everyone. But it's just knowing that he can get here."

"I'm glad I could help, even if it it was just words," she replied. "We get so used to thinking of the island protecting us, and just dealing with its weirdness that when the weirdness from home turns up it feels that much scarier." Isabel patted the space next to her. "Come here and at least let me give you a hug. You look like you need it."

Peter complied and hugged Isabel. "Thanks. I'm just going to be happy when he's gone. If he comes back, it's just like when anything else attacks, right?"

"Absolutely," she promised. "If he comes back you are not going to have to face him alone. No way in hell. We'll rally the troops, kick his ass and then have a party. And speaking of parties, Prof. Lyman gave us funds for a small celebration tomorrow night. Sort of an 'I survived Parents Weekend" party. You in?"

"Yeah, sure," Peter said, figuring that his odds of surviving were good enough to celebrate. "We don't get funded parties when snow monsters attack, but we do for parents. There's a message in there somewhere."

"That our parents or at least of families are enough to make us crazed?" Isabel said with a sigh. "My folks couldn't come at the last minute. But they still sent Max. I seriously question if I'm going to live till tomorrow night."

"The famous Max is here?" Peter asked. "Have you hit him yet?"

"Don't you mean infamous? And I have not hit him. Yet. But Jack did hit on him," she snickered. "He didn't know what to do. It was beautiful."

"I need to meet him. I need to find out just how close he is to the well-meaning but schmuckish person you've been describing to me all this time," Peter said.

"We'll be a Caritas tonight if you want to meet up with us," Isabel told him. "Just don't let on you know about the alien thing. I've been lying through my teeth and swearing that everyone thinks I'm just a normal girl." She thought about it for a moment, "You should come. There's that whole safety in numbers thing."

"That's probably a good idea," Peter said. "At least temporarily. Most of the night, I think I'm going to want to be closer to wherever Zero and her parents are, though."

"And not a problem with the alien thing. I've kept that secret before, I'm happy to keep it now."

"No problem," she nodded. "I understand completely. I'd do the same if it was me." Isabel smiled, "I know you have and I appreciate it. Lots."
