Room 406, Evening

After a weekend that ranked as fairly hellish, Isabel was glad that this week had been fairly calm and at times rather amusing. The movies had been a bit chilly but it was worth it to spend time with her friends and snuggle with Greg. Ethics hadn't been too traumatic, and then there was the science field trip. She was still shaking her head over their trip through Jack's body.

The music was playing as Isabel sat on her bed and went through the information from War Theory and the door was open.

Dawn poked her head in and grinned. "Hey. I'm bored in a way that defines description, even by bored people with thesauri and dictionaries. Entertain me?"

"I'm reading about submarines," Isabel said. "It's not exactly big excitement. But there's a wee kitty around here that would probably like to play."

Dawn laughed as her shoelace was attacked by said wee kitty. "So I see," she said, wiggling her foot, "and why are you reading about submarines? Is this a phallic thing?"

"It's actually an assignment for my War Theory class," she replied. "In theory it's not supposed to be phallic, but considering they were always trying to make them bigger, faster and more powerful? Who are they kidding?"

"Guys," Dawn snorted. "You should see Dean around guns."

"God, I can only imagine," Isabel chuckled. "Fortunately Greg's not like that, well, maybe over a microscope."

"Considering I hate guns? The fact that he almost made me enjoy shooting them?" Dawn grinned, then continued, "Kind of a testament to his powers of persuasion and distraction."

"Oh he does does he?" she asked, putting aside her papers and motioning for Dawn to take a seat. "Do you think Sam's got similar powers? Maybe Dean was a good big brother and passed on his knowledge?"

"Sam's got his own powers," Dawn grinned widely as she sat down. "I don't know if they involve guns, but if he gets better than he already is around them, I'm in serious trouble."

"Really?" Isabel grinned. "But I'm sure it's a very good kind of trouble isn't it?"

"It's the very best kind," Dawn admitted, adding a blush to the grin. "What about Greg?"

"He's quite talented," she said, blushing a little. "I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend."

"Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally?" It was a Dawn Summers secret how she could extend one word quite that far. She gleed at Isabel. "Tell what you can? For I am nosy and uninformed and have no ideas about this kind of thing?"

"I don't know," Isabel said. "Are you sure you're ready for it? I'm not sure Xander or your sister would approve of me telling you stuff like this."

"What they don't know won't hurt them," Dawn said, "Or me, hopefully. But Sam might owe you presents if you inspire me."

"Well in that case..." She looked thoughtful for a minute, "It was nice, even if we were both insanely nervous. But then you just kind of get caught up and you forget all about being nervous."

"You forget about being nervous? Like, completely?"

"Trust me," Isabel grinned. "You'll be completely focused on the moment."

Jack was still feeling vaguely itchy after playing host to a school bus full of his fellow students, and he rubbed his nose while he knocked on Isabel's door,

Dawn swallowed and tried to imagine that. "If you say so," she said a little skeptically.

Isabel looked up and snickered. "That may well have been the weirdest school trip I've ever gone on."

"Trust me," she said, smiling a little at the memory. "It was fun. It was also worth waiting for."

Dawn awwwwwwed. "Waiting is good. Right."

"You want to try weird?" He grinned at her. "Try sneezing out a school bus."

"It sounds cheesy and like some sort of PSA but it really did make a difference, at least to me," Isabel said a little sheepishly.

"And in other not so embarrassing news? Did I hear that your sister came by for the weekend?"
