The lack of a tree in her room had been bothering her, so Isabel spent Christmas Eve handwavily setting up a small tree on Xander's old desk. There's a stack of presents still to be distributed.

The door's open, the carols are playing and Isabel is wearing her penguin pajamas waiting for people to stop by.

"Wonderful," Peter agreed. "It's a good Christmas. I'm going to home to see my family tomorrow."

"Are you? That's nice," Isabel said as she rummaged through the pile of presents. "When will you be back? And here, this is for you."

"Before classes," Peter said definitely. "Willow's coming too." If Peter looked nervous, he certainly was. "Thank you," he said with a grin. He handed Isabel a medium size box with several smaller boxes inside.

He opened his present carefully. "Oh, Isabel, thank you so much. I can't wait to play a game with it."

"You like it? I don't know why, but for some reason I thought you when I saw it," she smiled. "Somehow I figured you'd like a good game of chess."

Isabel started out carefully opening the packages, but by the last one, paper was flying. "These are lovely!" She immediately hung them carefully from the tree.

Peter laughed. "I do indeed. I get beat by my little brother everytime we play, but I enjoy it greatly. Do you play?"

He watched her open her presents happily. "I'm so glad you like them. They seemed appropriate."

"Not particularly well, but I do. My dad taught us."

"They are. Perfectly. And twenty years from now when I put them on the tree, I'll remember my favorite prime minister," Isabel said. The cookies and the holiday spirit were getting to her. It was the only way to explain the sap.

"We should play after the holiday," Peter said. "I'm not terribly good either."

"Just what I was hoping for."

"Sounds like a perfect plan for a cold winter night," she nodded. "I'd say I'd look in on Willow while you're gone, but it looks like I'll be gone as well now."

"Where are you headed?" Peter asked, taking a cookie. He ducked his head with a smile. "And actually, Willow's coming to Narnia with me."

"I'd been invited out to Angel's, but I figured I'd hang out here with Jack and Cedric. But Jack's had to leave for the week so we're on our own," Isabel explained. "I thought Cedric needed to be exposed to the insanity that is Disneyland."

"She is?" she asked with interest. "That'll be fun for you."

"Disneyland?" Peter asked curiously. "I don't think I know of it."

He bit his lip. "I hope so. It should be good. I think."

Isabel thought about when Peter was from and realized that he would have no clue. "It's an amusement park in Southern California. It opened in the 1950s, so it's still a little ahead of your time. But there's rides and cartoon characters running around. It'll be fun."

"Are you nervous about her meeting your family?"

Peter grinned. "With Mickey Mouse and such? It does sound like fun."

He shook his head. "My family? No. My country? It's a bit of a different story." He shrugged. "It will go well. I'll make sure of it." Changing the subject, he stroked the chess set again. "This really is lovely."

"With Mickey Mouse, yes. I think Cedric is going to think we're all nuts."

Isabel nodded, having had a somewhat similar experience when Max came to Fandowm for Parent's Weekend. "I'm glad you like it."
