Disneyland, all day

Isabel had tried to be mature and blase about going to Disney. But by the time they'd gotten their tickets, gotten into the park and were standing on Main Street, she was pretty much bouncing with excitement. "Okay, where do you want to go first?"

Parker whapped him on the arm, not hard, and said, "So. What happened to Cal, that she's suddenly Little Mary Sunshine? Angel had no idea."

Parker rolled her eyes, and took a few steps forward as the line advanced. "I mean, How did this happen? I was talking to Aeryn, and Zero, and a doctor might not be a bad idea if it's something like that." She squinted through her sunglasses at him. "She said you were there."

"I found her," Logan agreed. "We could go to the doctor, but what if he fixes her?"

Parker gave him a deeply dubious look. "Then things go back the way they were. Which is what we want. Right?"

"Where she's completely miserable?" Logan asked. "Where she can't decide if she wants to kill me, Angel, herself or just set the whole hotel on fire and be done with it? Do you hate her that much?"

"She chooses to be that miserable. And I have said this five thousand freakin' times to Angel, so I'll say it to you: she has to go. She has to leave. She's never going to get over him with while he's within reach and not in love with her. That's the simplest goddamn solution, why doesn't anyone listen to me?" Parker took a breath. "But this is not better. She's helpless and sweet and she's not Cal. She deserves to know who she is even more than she deserves to be happy."

"I wish she would leave!" Logan exclaimed. "But Angel's afraid she'll kill herself somehow if he tells her to go and he might be right. And then he'd be all guilty and broody and I'm trying to get him away from that."

"There is no way Angel gets what he wants here." Parker looked at Logan over her shades, thinking. "He doesn't get to see her happy. She either stays and is a mess, or goes away and figures it out. It's not his responsibility now. He's out of the decision path on this." Watching Logan, she said, "So. We'll take her to the doctor, and if there's nothing wrong with her, maybe a psychic. Find a cure." She took another step forward as they waited for the next log ride to settle into place.

Parker waited a minute, then said, "I appreciate that you're looking out for him, though. I get how hard that can be, since he's mind-bogglingly obstinate."

"There is a person whose mind should be changed suddenly. Or given amnesia," Parker said mildly, waiting for the log ride to bump to a stop before climbing in. "That would certainly solve some problems about Cal. If he didn't remember her, he wouldn't let her stay."

Logan climbed into the ride as well. "I don't think messing with Angel's mind is a good idea."

"Why? You think letting Cal's stay messed-with is fine," Parker said perfectly evenly, not letting any suspicion into her voice. She pulled the bar across her lap, and couldn't contain a grin. "I really love this ride."

Parker was sure now. And ohhh, she was so going to kick his ass. Stupid Logan Tricks, tape at eleven. Later, though. When she got proof.

"And Angel might be more, if he forgot *too* much. But not if he just forgot Cal." Parker shrugged, then sat back with a jerk as the ride started, swirling the log forward into the chute to the main course. "Either way, the main thing is, once Cal is fixed, she's got to leave." Or she'll *kill* you, you idiot.
