Disneyland, all day

Isabel had tried to be mature and blase about going to Disney. But by the time they'd gotten their tickets, gotten into the park and were standing on Main Street, she was pretty much bouncing with excitement. "Okay, where do you want to go first?"

"Well, yeah, but I like it better when whatever I'm watching doesn't get interrupted."

Finally they reached the head of the line and were escorted into one of the ride theaters. Molly took a seat and, grinning broadly at Ray, tried not to bounce in her seat.

"This is a movie?" Ray asked, sitting down and slanting a glance around them.

"It's a simulator ride," Molly told him. "The whole room moves, but doesn't really go anywhere. The movie just makes it seem like we do. It's almost as good as a regular roller coaster, except you get a story too."

Ray looked hesitant but sat down and strapped in anyway.

Molly just grinned until the ride dove down the first time. Then she let out an "EEEEEEE!" of excitement.

Ray didn't call out but he did grip his arm rests tighter and took the ride a little more seriously.

Molly giggled through the rest of the ride. The only time she stopped was when a drop or a turn surprised another exclamation out of her.

For the most of the ride, Ray did end up smiling. No outright giggling but he was close a few times.

When the ride was over, Molly was still giggling. She hopped up from her seat and turned to Ray. "That was so much fun!"

"It wasn't bad," he admitted grudgingly.

Molly grinned at him and reached for his hand again as they exited. "You can pick the next ride then," she said.
