Disneyland, all day

Isabel had tried to be mature and blase about going to Disney. But by the time they'd gotten their tickets, gotten into the park and were standing on Main Street, she was pretty much bouncing with excitement. "Okay, where do you want to go first?"

[Anyone in LA can hop in. Just assume a handwavey invite. Please wait for the OCD is up! But I'm still insane]

She nodded. "I've had a few of those myself at times. It does help to talk though. I found that out the hard way."

He nodded but avoided those anyway. "You know about my secret dislike of coffee so I suppose that's not such a secret."

"And you know that I'm not really from around here," she replied. "Of course that hasn't been such a big secret since that Skeeter woman made her radio broadcast."

"Skeeter," he huffed. "Do you know she's from my time?"

Isabel nodded, "I know you have a version of her at least. After what she did to me, Xander had his friend who was at Hogwarts do a little research on her. In that timeline, she had been a reporter but had been reduced to writing cheesy ads for the back of Wizard Monthly or something. One of them was about making your wand grow."

Cedric laughed. And then laughed some more. "Fitting, especially for someone such as her. When I knew her, she was a reporter and took joy in harassing us during the Triwizard Tournament."

"By the time she left it seemed like she was perpetually drunk. I didn't shed any tears over it. I guess being a part of that tournament made you a celebrity?" she asked.

"I suppose," he said, raising one shoulder in a shrug. "I didn't think of myself that way but there was a lot of attention paid to me."

Isabel tilted her head, not quite able to picture quiet Cedric as the object of a media frenzy. "I can't picture you enjoying that."

"I enjoyed the excitement of the tournament but the attention was something I could've done without," he admitted.

"I can definitely see dragons being exciting. It's a shame you didn't get to finish it. I bet you would have won," she said.

Another shoulder bump. "Absolutely. I have complete faith in you."

He blushed and said, "Thank you."

"Well that's a change," she laughed, waving her ice cream at him. "I made you blush."

Isabel laughed, "I'm not sorry. Especially given how often you've done it to me. But maybe a distraction will help. Want to go explore Tom Sawyer's Island?"

"I would," he said, standing up and offering Isabel his hand.

She took the last bite of her ice cream, dropped the stick in the trash, took Cedric's hand and climbed to her feet. "So have you ever heard about Tom Sawyer?" Isabel asked as they walked towards the boat launch.

"I have not," he told her. "I'm guessing he had some historical significance?"

"He's a famous character from American Literature," she explained...

And off they went to explore Tom Sawyer's Island for a while. After that there were more rides, fireworks, and eventually even a pair of personalized mouse ears.
