Room 406, Late, late Monday night

It had been an extremely long two days. Between finding out Jack was in the clinic and getting him settled in his room yesterday, then spending the day with him today only to leave for a trip to the Underworld and the death of a friend, Isabel was physically and emotionally exhausted when she returned to her room.

She made a call to Greg to let him know she was back, then disappeared into the bathroom for a long, hot shower.

Greg bit his lip. "I'm sure he is," he said softly.

"That's all I want." Isabel stretched out next to him, resting her head on his shoulder. "Tell me something happy."

"Valentine's Day is Wednesday," he sai grasping at the first thing he could think of.

"It is, isn't it? Funny how it just creeps up like that. Every February 14th," she said, pressing a kiss to his shoulder.

He snugged her a little closer. "And there's a dance."

"With a snark corner," Isabel yawned. "Peter and I came up with that idea last year."

"For the single people?" he wondered, rubbing her shoulder.

She nodded, slowly relaxing. "For the single people, yes. It was crowded the whole night."

He pressed a kiss to her temple. "We'll stop by there, then. Assuming you'll go to the dance with me, of course."

"I don't know," Isabel said, pausing for a massive yawn. "I'd planned on doing my nails that night."

Greg poked her in the side. "Your nails are beautiful."

"Flatterer," she murmured. "Of course I'll go with you."

"Good. Otherwise I'd cry and you know that wreaks havoc with my complexion."

"And we can't have that." Isabel closed her eyes, hoping that tonight she'd be able to sleep. "Stay?" she asked quietly.

"You'd have to shove me out and down the stairs yourself," he said quietly, wrapping his other arm around him.

Isabel waved her hand to turn of the light, then pulled the blanket up over them. "Love you."

"Love you too," he whispered, cuddling her close.

She was tired enough that she was asleep within minutes. And fortunately her sleep was dreamless.
