Room 406, evening

Warm cat curled up on her feet, plate of brownies and a glass of milk on the table next to her, and Isabel sat back with her book and relaxed.

So far it had been a perfectly wonderful and relaxing break. There'd been mocking of the beautiful and famous, an unexpected return, hanging out with friends and lots of snow. Aside from tomorrow night's trip with Parker, Isabel planned on doing more of the same till her first class on Tuesday.

The music was playing and the door was open.

Mel was walking by and stuck her head into the room. "Hey Isabel."

"Hey Mel!" Isabel waved. "What's up?"

"Bored," Mel said with a shrug. "No monster to hunt and no homework to do so... I'm just wandering. What's up with you?"

"Angelica Desmesnes," she replied, holding out the book. "It's an oldie but a a goodie. The story of the great love between a pirate and his ninja."

"Seriously? A ninja and a pirate?" Mel asked. "Can they find enough common ground to have a loving relationship?"

"Yup," Isabel grinned. "Sex. And lots of it. Enough that there's five more books in the series detailing the adventures of their daughter and other family members. This is brain candy in it's finest form."

"I may have to bring that along on my next patrol," Mel replied. "At least I'll get to see some action that way."

"The island's been pretty quiet vampire-wise since we did the big hunt last year," she said. "Sorry about that, but not really. One vamp attack was enough for me. As for action? Nobody's caught your eye?"

Mel flailed slightly. "Um. I just meant the regular beat-up-bad-guys kind of action. Not the other kind. Not that there aren't plenty of pretty people to look at around here."

"Oh! Sorry! Got confused there," Isabel said, shaking her head. "There is lots of pretty. You should have been here for shirtless day last Spring. It was amazing." A glance a the calendar and some quick mental math had Isabel offering a Mel a shrug. "It's been a while since the last invasion. Something should happen soon."

"Well I did get to see Alec shirtless," Mel said with a slightly dreamy expression. "That was pretty nice. And an invasion of shirtless men would be an adequate subsitute to vampires."

"Oh I'd be all over that invasion. But there's only one problem," she said sadly. "We're supposed to fight the invaders off and make them leave. Not invite them to stay which is what I'm sure would happen."

"Maybe we should have a rule that as long as they are pretty and don't do a lot of property damage they can stay," Mel snickered.

"Just sit around and look pretty," Isabel agreed. "And occasionally lift heavy things in a completely unrealistic, yet very eye-catching way."

The look on Mel's face makes it obvious she is going to happy place. "Yes. Like make them move furniture around the common room for our own amusement."

Oh look! She has company. "That would be wonderful. Of course this being Fandom? The next invasion will most likely feature goblins or something else equally ugly."

Mel frowned. "Okay. I think we need to organize another shirtless day if that's going to be true."

"Talk to Jack or anyone that was in the Seahorse cabin last summer," Isabel grinned. "They're usually pretty easy to convince."
