After the Perk, Isabel returned to her room, made a few handwavey phone calls and then tried to pack. If you can call randomly taking things in and out of drawers packing. Annie sat on the bed watching her, seeming to sense something was going on.

The door was cracked open.

"Yeah. My king calls. You know how that goes," she said quietly.

Alanna's frown? Was huge. "Yeah. Doesn't mean people won't miss you."

"I know. And I'm certainly going to miss everyone here. But they need us," Isabel explained. "So we'll go."

Alanna nodded and walked over to give Izzy a hug.

Isabel returned the hug. "Take of yourself. And have fun finding Aly a daddy," she teased. "I'm going to use you as an example of what I need to be."

Alanna didn't make a face at that, really. Or break off the hug. "Keep in touch?"

"I don't think I can. So far all the communication we've gotten has happened when they possessed someone and spoke through them," Isabel explained. "I won't do that to anyone."

"That's what I hate about Fandom. People leave."

"I always knew it was a possibility. I just never thought it would actually happen." She shrugged helplessly. "I kind of hoped it wouldn't."

"I hope so. Can you do me a favor?" Isabel asked. "Can you just tell Charlie I said I'm sorry? He'll know what for."
