Room 406, evening

It had been a very quiet Sunday for Isabel. After being up half the night, she finally fell into a deep sleep after the sun rose. After a visit to the gym, she returned to find a voicemail waiting for her. Shaking her head, she hoped Alec was doing okay.

At some point she was going to have to go out and spend some time in the common rooms, Isabel realized. But for now it's easier to stay in her room and read and think. Settling down on her bed, she started reading through her notes for Revolutions.

The door was open.

"Leave the bear alone and you'll be fine," she grinned. "As nicely and I might even change your shirt back."

"Hmmmm." Jack pretended to think about while he wandered back to the bed and flopped down next to her. "Nope. I like it pink." He grinned. "No changing it back, but I'm prepared to forgive the bear if he'll share."

She bent her head down as if she was listening to the bear talk. "I see. Okay. I promise. Trust me, he's got three others to juggle. Good." Looking up, Isabel smiled. "Okay. He'll share."

Jack laughed, leaning on her shoulder. "It's a deal," he said, reaching out to scratch the bear behind the ear. "He's not the only reason I'm here."

"Of course not," Isabel said. "You've been gone since Friday. Almost forty-eights without my sparkling wit and personality. You need to bask in my radiance."

"How did you know?" he asked, feigning shock. "I thought I was covering it so well!"

"Nope," she grinned. "I knew it. You missed me."

"I did. I really did," he said, abandoning silliness in favour of hugging her tightly. But he was very careful not to dislodge the bear.

Isabel slipped an arm around his waist and leaned into him, still keeping a careful hold on the bear. "So is this some sort of threesome?"

Snickering, Jack pondered the question. "It could be, I guess. Though he's a bit fluffy for my tastes."

"But think of how warm he'd be. Almost like those living fur coats you told me about," she chuckled.

"He's a bit small." Jack let that statement just hang there, and stared at the bear, who he was beginning to think was staring back.

"He can keep the important parts warm?" Isabel offered, trying hard to look innocent.

Yeah, he wasn't buying the innocent thing for a second. "I had no idea you'd be so willing to share," he said, resting his hand on the bear's head. "It's intriguing."

"If it's what Mr. Bear wants..." She let go of the bear then. Instead of falling to the floor, he flew across and tried to attack Jack in a bearish version of a tackle hug.

"Oh no," Jack laughed as it tackled him, grabbing it and holding it aganst his chest so it couldn't get away. "Overly amorous bear!"

"So how I don't think that's the weirdest thing that's ever tried to be amorous with you," Isabel teased, leaning against him. "You're kind of irresistable."

Jack snuggled the bear against his chest. "I told you about the elephant, right?"

"No?" she said, not certain if he was joking. "And I'm getting really weird mental pictures now."

Snickering again, he looped an arm around her shoulders. "The stuffed elephant," he clarified. "Sam gave it to me. The week the toys came to life? It decided it loved me, and it was very affectionate."

"So basically this wasn't the first time you've been molested by a stuffed animal then?" Isabel asked, taking the bear and setting him aside as she wrapped both arms around him.

He pulled her against him, pressing his face against her hair, breathing deep. "Nope, it wasn't. Like you said, I'm irresistable."

Isabel relaxed against him, no longer silly, but as content as she'd been since she got back. "I missed you."

"I missed you. You should have come with us." It was pushing too hard on the wall he'd thrown up, everything that had happened with Sam coming creeping back, so he kissed her hair, then moved back slightly. "You doing okay?"

"I think that would have cramped your style just a bit," she pointed out. Isabel let her arms drop from around him and shrugged. "I'm doing okay. Other then listening to Dawn vent, I pretty much kept to myself for the weekend."
