Room 406, evening

The trip home to Roswell had quite possibly been even longer and more emotional then Isabel thought it would be. But she'd gotten through it and answered questions as best she could. Despite the worry that had Liz pale and silent and Maria frantic with panic, Isabel was still grateful that for once there were no more secrets. Her parents hadn't let her out of there sight for the day, they'd been upset by the years of deception, but in the end they'd understood that they were only trying to keep them safe.

They hadn't wanted her to come back to school though. It took a lot of talking and Isabel nearly breaking down before they'd finally agreed. Even then, she wasn't certain that believed all her reasons for wanting to go back. Apparently it was one thing to believe in aliens, but demons, wizards and time travellers were another story entirely. Fortunately that was when Bel turned up to bring her home. Isabel didn't think she'd ever forget the shocked expression on her mother's face as Bel took her hand and they started to shimmer away.

They reappeared in her room and Isabel let go of Bel's hand to collapse on her bed, worn out by the day.

"They'll get used to it," Bel said. "They just need time to sort things out."

"I know. I'm hoping it can only get better at this point."

Her phone started to ring and Isabel held out her hand as it flew across the room. She raised an eyebrow at the caller ID and flipped open the phone. "Mom? Yes. I am," she said. "In Virginia. I told you, he's can do that." Isabel facepalmed with her free hand. "No, I am not going to ask him to bring me back there once a week for dinner. I know mom. I love you to. I'll talk to you soon."

Clicking the phone shut, Isabel sighed. "I suppose that's a good sign."

Bel snickered. "See, she's getting used to things already if she's asking to arrange rides with the cosmic taxi."

"I think it's just desperation. Max is gone. I'm all they have left. They'll deal with anything if it means seeing me," she explained. "But as much as I love them, I'd rather be here."

"For all its weirdness, this place is home," Bel agreed. "It's going to be hard leaving."

"I know. Graduation is going to be hard," Isabel nodded. "Parker, Jack, you, Aeryn...I hate saying good-bye."

"Me too," Bel said. "I don't even know what I'm doing. Phoebe and I haven't really talked about it. I think she wants to go to college but I don't know what I'm going to do."

"Go with her. Figure out what you like to do and look for a way to make a career out of it," she suggested.

"I could start a detective agency and fight against the forces of evil," Bel mused. "Oh wait, that's been done."

Isabel snickered. "Maybe you could open the San Francisco branch? Just without the obnoxious sidekick?"

Bel rolled his eyes and made a face. "Yeah, like the world needs another Logan."

"Tell you what," she said, only half kidding. "If I make it back from Antar again? I'll come work for you. I'd be a much better partner then Logan."

"Much better looking, too," Bel agreed. He cocked his head. "You're going back there?"

"In August, if I can figure out a way. I was actually gone for six months. There was funky time thing that happened, and I wound up back on earth a few days after I left," Isabel explained. "My brothers are still there. So in August, when the timelines sync up again, I need to get back to them."

"You're not planning on going alone, are you?" Bel said. "You're bringing people with you, right?"

"Can I just give you a list of people I've already had this argument with?" she sighed.

"Don't make me see if I can shimmer into space," Bel said. "Because I'll try."

"No. You're going to go with Phoebe and have live your life," Isabel said firmly. "Antar's our problem. And I'm not going to let anyone else put themselves at risk to deal with it."

"You think people let me get away with saying that about the things I had to deal with from the Underworld?" Bel pointed out. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "Look, I just don't want to see you get hurt."

"I know. I think we had the same argument at one point," she sighed. "As for being hurt. It can't get much worse then the time I already spent there. And I've survived." Mostly.

"Still, no reason to refuse help from people who want to kick ass on your behalf," Bel insisted.

"If it was a simple as busting in someplace to kick ass and take names, I'd be having sign-ups in the lobby," Isabel replied. "But it's a planet-wide war that's been going on for over sixty years. This is isn't something that's going to be solved in time to be back for classes after the weekend. It's going to take years. Do you really want to commit to that?"

"Point," Bel said. "But you know if you need me I'll be there, right?"

"I know. And that means more then you can possibly imagine," she said with a small smile.

"Anytime," Bel said. "I better get going now. I need to pass out soon should see how Phoebe's doing."
