Room 406, evening

A week that had included library duty, a night out at Caritas, movies with a friend, exams, and plotting a rescue mission meant that Isabel was pretty damn tired when she went to bed on Friday night. Unfortunately the conversation with Rikku brought memories and Isabel didn't actually get into a deep sleep until some time just before dawn. She slept till noon when the sound of yelling and chaos in the hallways woke her.

A quick look out her door found Isabel shutting it quickly. Beyond grateful to whatever quirk of Fandom left her still eighteen, she decided an afternoon with a good book was much better then weetiny chaos.

After a quiet afternoon, Isabel finally got out her camera and opened her door.

"No, no chocolates for the silly fish," Isabel nodded. "It'll give him a tummy ache. What are you going to do tonight?"

"I dunno," he said and shrugged. "Magics!"

"Magics are fun," she grinned. "And you're very good at it." Considering Cedric was only five, Isabel was able to refrain from making any wand jokes.

"Thank you!" He blushed again. "I made a light this morning!"

"Did you? Were you afraid of the dark?" Isabel asked seriously.

"Noooooooo." Clearly, he was.

She knew that feeling. "I don't like the dark. I have a pretty night light that makes me feel safe," Isabel said, pointing at the star light.

"It keeps the bad things away when you sleep?"

"It does," she nodded. "Do you want to borrow it for the night? Not that you're afraid or anything."

"Puff's afraid," he said, blaming the fish. "May I?"

"We don't want Puff to be afraid," Isabel replied. She got to her feet, hooked and unplugged the star light, then carefully wrapped the cord around it. "Here you go. Just be very careful with it. My friend gave it to me so it's special."

"I will. Honest." He put a hand over his heart. "I promise. Forever and ever."

"I believe you," she smiled, holding out the lamp.

"Thank you!" He took the lamp carefully and reached out for another hug.

"You're welcome," Isabel smiled returning the hug and adding a kiss to his cheek just because he was just too cute.

"I should go now and see Puff," he said, trying not to yawn. "Thank you again!"

"I'm sure he misses you," she agreed. "Have a good night!"

"Bye bye!" He waved and, still carefully holding the lamp, headed to his room.
