Room 406, evening

As always, Monday's workshops were entertaining. Afterwards, Isabel hauled her stuff back to the dorms, responded to an email from Parker, and then finally went down to Jack's room to retrieve the TV and DVD player he'd told her she could have. And that's when she found the letter.

Currently Isabel was attempting to rearrange furniture to accomadate the TV but she was occasionally distracted by the paper lying folded on her desk.

The door was open.

"I threatened to melt it actually," she laughed. "Which means I'll probably pay for it some day when I'm late for class, but I had my hands full so it was a time for desperate measures."

Isabel drew up her feet, leaving a spot for Peter to sit if he'd like. "Hey yourself."

"Doing okay?" Peter asked as he came in. He looked her over. "You seem like you're in one piece."

"I'm all in one piece," Isabel promised. "Katara finished healing my arm last Thursday and I got to kick CIA butt and help rescue a friend without anymore injuries. It was a good weekend."

"Although it could have been better."

"Without the CIA, the injuries, or a friend needing rescue?" Peter guessed.

"More the company, I love Peter to death but he had a little to much on his mind to play tour guide once the rescue was over," she explained.

"So plenty of opportunity for me then?" Peter asked.

"Oh yes," Isabel told him, pushing back her hair. "Plenty of opportunity."

"Glad I didn't miss out," Peter said. "And I'm glad everybody's okay. Especially you."

She didn't blush. Much. "Thanks. I'm still sorry about the last minute change of plans. But it's sort of the Fandom thing. We look out for one another."

"I promise, when we reschedule, I won't let anything get in the way."

"Taking care of friends is more than okay," Peter said, blushing himself once he realized what he'd said. He tried to hide it. "I'm only sorry I couldn't help."

"Zero was very focused. Telling her to turn around would probably have been more dangerous then facing the CIA agents," Isabel explained with a laugh. "She has a mallet and is not afraid to use it. She was not happy that Dave got shot."

"I thought you said nobody was hurt," Peter said, looking worried.

"Did you ever notice the rather brightly colored van parked down near the causeway? That was Teal Deer's van," she said, patting his arm. "Also known as Dave. Zero crashed him through a garage door when we went in for the rescue. He took one for the team."

"Oh." Peter raked a hand through his hair and looked sheepish. "Well - sorry to hear about Dave then."

If asked, Isabel would use the term adorable instead of sheepish, but she wasn't asked so she just smiled. "He'll survive. He's tough. So what did you wind up doing for the weekend? Anything exciting?"

"Not much," Peter admitted. "Got ready to come back to the dorms. Caught up on my comic collection."

"Oh? Anything interesting? I have to admit, I've never really read any," she said sheepisly.

"Could borrow some of mine if you wanted," Peter said. "Ninth Wonders. A little over the top, but it's fun. Just watch out if he covers any of your favorite TV shows in the background pictures. Somehow he always manages to spoil some of the plotlines. Guess he's got a friend in the business."

"I'd like that. And I'll loan you some Angelica Desmesnes if you're interested," Isabel grinned. "I bet you've never read them."

"Safe to say yes," Peter said. "But I'll take the plunge if you swear they're good."

"Well it depends on your definition of good," she snickered.

"Duly warned," Peter said. "I should probably head back to my room and finish unpacking. Just wanted to see if you were okay."

"Yes, unpacking. Such fun," Isabel nodded. "Good luck with that."

She smiled and ducked her head, "I'm fine. Thanks for coming by."
