Room 406, evening

After a rather flail worthy evening Wednesday night and then a slightly flail inducing conversation with Bel today, Isabel did a little mental math and decided it was still early enough in Moscow that Parker would likely be awake. Picking up her phone, she hit the speed dial.

The door was closed but knockable.

"Okay, that's progress, at least," Parker said, tapping her feet on the couch. "And sweet. Any smoochies yet?"

"Ummm yes? Just not with him," Isabel admitted, ducking her head and waiting for Parker's reaction.

"Oooooooo! Spill! Tell! C'mon, fair's fair!"

Parker boggled for a second. Then:

"Ooooooooo...."

"Shut up. I just... I don't know," she sighed. "We met up on the beach last night."

"Uh-hunh." Parker settled in, grinning at the ceiling. "Sooo, you were just walking along the beach, and you bumped into him..."

Isabel snickered, "More like I was sitting there, quietly minding my own business staring at the water when this flying and flaming person went zipping by my head. And we started to talk and then there was kissing."

"Wait wait flying flaming and you skipped a bunch there," Parker said. "Back up to the zipping by and the talking! I don't need major details, just some more continuity."

"He's pyrokinetic," she explained. "And can also fly. With his body completely covered in flames. Don't ask me how, because I haven't got a clue. But it is pretty neat to see."

Stretching out, Isabel folded a pillow under her head. "So I was sitting there, and he saw me, so he stopped flying, put out the fire and came over to talk to me."

"That's one way to pull in women, give him credit," Parker said, highly amused. "Ahhh. And I've met Johnny, so I can guess how part of this went. 'What's a beautiful girl like you doing alone on a beach?'"

"Something like that," Isabel said dryly. "I guess I should also add that I spent most of yesterday thinking about Max and Michael. And trying to figure out what I'm going to do come August. So I pretty much turned my brain off when I went to the beach."

"Ohhhh, boy. I am seeing how this developed even further now." Parker sighed, thinking about August and what would hopefully not happen then. "Sooo. Talking, and not thinking, and then...?"

"Kissing and some more kissing and then my brain decided that it felt like kicking back into gear," she sighed. Well her brain and a wandering hand. "I was tempted, god knows I was tempted."

"It's not like you and Steve-Peter have gotten very far," Parker observed. "What stopped you, exactly?"

"Honestly it has nothing to do with Peter," Isabel replied. "I just, I don't know. For one thing it was the beach for Pete's sake. And I don't know that I'm ready to be that casual. Which is stupid."

"No, it isn't." Parker sat up, swinging her legs off the couch. "The beach was fine for me and Weiss, but that's one thing. You and a guy you barely know-- that's another. If you're not sure, you're just not."

"I suppose," she sighed, staring at the ceiling. "But then at this rate I might as well resign myself to a life long dry spell. I mean seriously, I make it back to Antar and that's it. Unless Michael and I decide to give them what they want. And that has a snowball's chance in hell of happening."

"Okay, that is not happening. If you go back-- BIG if-- then you're going to be there only as long as it takes to get it done, and get out of there," Parker said. "You are not committed to being princess of Antar, and your stupid brother can't make you. You don't owe those people anything after what you went through. You will come back here and have a good life, because I say so!"

Isabel wouldn't argue with her. "From your mouth to whoever's in charge," she said. "And if they're smart they'll listen to you. But in the meantime. Dry spell."

"...okay, yeah, that part still sucks," Parker conceded. "Especially since my two-month dry spell just got broken. Look, maybe you'll change your mind about Johnny later. Or maybe something will happen with Steve-Peter. You can only be honest with the guys you know, and see where it goes." She sighed. "Wish I could be there."

"Bah, don't worry, I'll just live vicariously through your European adventures," Isabel chuckled. "And yeah, I wish you were here to, for the chocolate, the company and the wackiness. I'm pretty sure Bel got gremlin bit."

"Oh? Who did he think he was? And how embarrassing was it? Photos? Oh, any more of Constable Fraser? Yummm."

"Oh he was still Bel," she said. "He was just um, very open about his feelings. More so then I've ever seen before."

"Touchy-feely Bel?... I think I'm glad I missed that one." Parker snickered. "Although it'll be fun to see what kind of mood he's in when he snaps out of it."
