Room 406, evening

After thinking quite a bit, and listening to last night's radio one more time, Isabel finally had an idea about what to do to annoy Umbridge for what she did to Johnny and Peter.

Smirking a lot, Isabel sat on her bed with her laptop and Photoshop up and running.

The door was open.

Peter had finally gotten around to listening to the radio podcasts. He went to Isabel's room to see if it was true.

"Hi," Isabel said, setting aside the laptop. "I'm back."

Which was stating the obvious but still.

"Really you?" Peter asked. "It's not some kind of illusion or Fandom trick?"

"Really me," she nodded, smiling a bit because it was a legitimate Fandom question. "Come over here and I'll change the color of your shirt just to prove it."

A smile touched Peter's lips as he came into the room. "There could be more than that."

"Changes in hair color as well?" Isabel teased, only turning a little pink as she remembered the radio podcast the night she left.

"That's one way," Peter said. And then he went to kiss her.

Charlie had heard Isabel was back on the Radio, and came by to see how she was going. "You're back! Yay!"

Isabel tipped her head up and returned the kiss, glad to back just for this at least. "So hi," she said again, sliding over so he could sit, eight inch rule or not.

"Hi Charlie," Isabel smiled. "How are you?"

"I was trying to think of a way to let you know I was glad you were back," Peter said. He sat down beside her. "Are you okay? Is your family allright?"

"I'm good! You missed the play, and the comedy festival. Did you at least have fun when you went home?" Charlie said, bouncing in and looking around for Annie.

"It was a good way," Isabel told him with a small smile. "I'm fine. I was able to get in touch with them. They're alive. For the moment."

Annie was still sulking under the bed but she poked her head out at the sound of a new voice. "Home was home," she shrugged. "I took care of what I had to. And now I'm back."

"For the moment meaning we're all going to die someday or for the moment meaning something more dire?" Peter asked.

"So you're staying now? Awesome." Charlie sat down on the carpet, tapping her fingers, hoping to lure Annie out of hiding. "The Temp Principal has gotten more psycho lately. She was threatening to do dorm room inspections last week. So far nothing, though."

"For the moment meaning they might wind up dead someday very soon. They're still on Antar," Isabel explained. "And things are going to hell there pretty fast. They wouldn't open a way back for me. They want me to stay safe here."

"That... I'm so sorry," Peter said. "I can't imagine how that feels."

"For now, I'm staying. But I'm still looking for a way back." Annie came out. Charlie hadn't been involved in smushing her in the travel carrier. "I saw some of her handiwork today. She stuck Johnny's tongue to the roof of his mouth."

"Right now? I'd kill them if I could," she admitted. "I'm pissed that they made the decision for me. But at the same time I feel guilty. Because there's this tiny part of me that's relieved that I'm not there."

"They love you," Peter said. "They're doing what they think is best."

"She what?" Charlie left her fingers out to beckon to Annie. She turned an appalled look on Isabel. "God, and he was so sure she couldn't do anything to him. She just gets crazier and scarier.... Back where?" she asked, confused. "I thought your home was Roswell."

"Rationally I know that. But that doesn't stop me from wanting to be there," Isabel replied. "I mean, anything could happen to them. And I'm not sure I'd ever know."

"I'd be going insane," Peter admitted. He reached for her hand. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Roswell's where I came from when I came here," Isabel explained as Annie batted at Charlie's fingers. "But before that, before the crash, we were from a planet called Antar. My brothers and I? We were supposed to grow up here on earth, learn to use our powers and then go back and save Antar."
