Room 406, evening

Waking up had been interesting. And that was just the beginning. There were notes and skirts, even a trip to the park. But eventually Isabel couldn't put it off any longer and she returned to her room to hide.

A check of her phone caused some facepalming. She'd forgotten about the messages she'd left. But it was the unexpected message that really made her flail. Homecoming was going to be interesting.

The door was closed but completely knockable.

A check of the caller ID made Isabel sigh.

"Sometimes I hate this island."

"Oh thank God. Just tell me you don't need an annulment," Parker said, relaxing back on her air mattress in Zero's dorm room.

"No annulment," she promised. "The wedding was actually scheduled for the thirteenth. It's in his planner."

"And who was the scheduled groom whose ass I was going to kick for not sending out invites six months ago?" Parker inquired, rubbing her temples. "And are you okay? Please say yes."

Isabel sighed and leaned back on her pillows. "Wyatt Halliwell. And I'm fine. Don't worry."

"You're sure? Not too upset, nothing... happened?" Parker sighed, then shook her head. "Jesus. Stupid island. If it pulls something like that next weekend, I'm killing someone. Even if I have no idea how at the time."

"No. Even with no memory of who I was, I was still insanely practical and cautious." She still wasn't sure if she was happy about that.

"Don't talk to me about next weekend. I also called Bel. He must have told Piper because she left me a voicemail."

"Nooooooo," Parker winced. "Oh, that's gonna be fun. Okay, the mom-in-law can be Wyatt's problem. How's he taking all this, anyway?"

"Yes," Isabel replied. "Not that we didn't keep ourselves entertained..." She grew quiet for a minute, remembering.

"Ohhhhh?" Parker's eyes narrowed. "Isabel? Spill!"

"Oh shut up. We were supposed to be married. But ever so cautious me set limits. At least until we got our memory back," she explained. "Just so we didn't make a mistake. Wyatt agreed."

"Then he lives!" Parker said cheerfully, then paused. "Wait, Bel knows about this too? That's... not good."

"There will be no killing of anyone," Isabel warned. "Fandom weirdness. We deal and we move on."

"As for Bel, I'm hoping Piper will keep him from shimmering out here to check things out himself."

"Yeah, that wouldn't end well." Parker got up to pace, and said, "Soooo. You're okay. Wyatt is dealing. Does Peter know yet? Or is that not an issue?"

"I'm okay. He's okay, and Peter? Well, I saw him in class today but we didn't get a chance to talk." Isabel wondered what was up with that, not sure if it was her, or what he was possibly did over the weekend. "I'm sure we'll talk during the week."

"Cool. I suppose, if you had to mistake a guy for your fiancee', you could do worse than Wyatt." Parker smirked, remembering a long-ago hallway. "How did you guys happen to come to this conclusion, aside from a daytimer note? Hmmm?"

Isabel grinned, remembering a conversation about a sock. "You'd know, wouldn't you Parker?"

Parker knew lots of languages. And her other best friend was Zero.

"Ohhhhhhhh myyyyy.... Tell me he was wearing more than the sock!"

"Fully clothed. We'd fallen asleep watching movies Friday night," she said, laughing a bit. "We woke up snuggling. Take it from there."

"Mmmm. I wouldn't mind. A little young for me, but very impressive in a sock...."

Parker was totally teasing. Really.

"Down girl. If anything you can have a chance this weekend. A last fling before you head off for college life." Isabel wasn't going to think about why the thought of Parker and Wyatt made her twitch. "He told me about that a few weeks ago. I'm sorry I missed it."

"You should be. Guy knows how to work the naked vibe, once he gets past being embarrassed." Parker grinned, then said, "I'm glad you're okay. No other close calls this weekend? No one thinking they were, I don't know, assassins or people who actually were assassins deciding they had to take on the school?"

"Good to know," she laughed. "As for everyone else? Lots of romantic mix-ups mostly. At least per radio. We went out for lunch and stuff but mostly we just hung out here in my room making out and snuggling a lot."

"How are Anders, Bridge, River-- hey, Zero's Peter? They didn't end up in anything terrible, did they?" Parker worried a little, trying not to imagine the worst-case scenarios.

"Bridge and Xander got themselves mixed up, Anders and the others I'm not sure about. I was flailing too much to really listen."

"Poor them," Parker said, feeling the amusement of one safely in L.A. and not at all at risk for embarrassing Fandom amnesia. "I'll have to get details when I'm in town. I do hope they're okay." She smirked a little, then sobered. "I'm staying at the Arms. We'll have to have a girl's night in there, get caught up before I leave for London on Sunday."

"That sounds like a good plan to me," Isabel said. "It'll be good to see you. It's not the same without you around."

"I'll bet," Parker said. "Although it sounds like it's the same old place as usual, hunh?" She snickered a little. "Right. Fun this weekend. Take it easy until then, and don't get engaged again, for cripe's sake."

"The wackiness is the same I suppose," she replied. "The rest of it? Meh..." Isabel just plain missed people. "But yeah, no engagements for me. I promise." Even if the kisses that went with said engagement made her toes curl, but she's not thinking about that.

"Good. Plenty of time. John and Aeryn are the exception, not the rule. No matter what bets I have with Rory." Parker made a face. "Reminds me that I have tons of stuff to tell you about what we've been doing in L.A. and other points... but did you catch the Emmys this year?"

Zero and Parker. With Angel and Logan. Isabel could only imagine. "I'll be waiting to hear. And yes I did watch. How could I miss the mocking?"

"So I assume you caught the red carpet pre-show?" Parker said, smirking to herself.

"Some. Not all. Parker what did you do?" Isabel laughed.

A cackle of glee down the line, and a happy hum. "I'll bring you a copy of the tape from MTV when I'm there on Friday, okay? You'll get to see for yourself."

"I can't wait." It had been way too long.

"See you Friday night, Is-a-belle. Stay safe until then, okay? Please?"

Still smiling, Isabel hung up the phone.
