Room 406, after lunch

After class, Isabel had made a handwavey trip to the gym where she spent some time on the elliptical trainer and possibly a little too much time hitting the bag. Not that she had issues or anything. No, none of those.

She showered and changed clothes, then sat down to send an email to Maria filling her in on the last few days. Isabel was pretty certain Maria would appreciate hearing about stubborn boys.

The door was open.

"You could... go with me?" Peter suggested.

She pretended to think about it for a minute. "I think that counts as a better off. I'd love to go to the dance with you."

Peter had a big ol' smile. "Great. Thanks. I'll pick you up?"

Not that that was totally necessary with her being a couple of doors down and all, but still.

"I'll be waiting," Isabel smiled. "Not necessarily with bells on. But I'll be waiting."

"Good. Great." Peter stood up, feeling a giddy rush of relief. "I'm looking forward to it."

Peter then wanted to beat a hasty retreat before someone - such as himself - said anything to screw this up.

Isabel wondered if Peter really was okay with his first brush with Fandom weirdness, but she didn't want to push.

"You have things to do this afternoon?"

"Yeah. Homework," Peter said. He was totally lying. "You know how it is."

"Oh yeah, definitely," she nodded. "They just pile it on."

Would you like some sunscreen? Or perhaps a cool and fruity drink with an umbrella?

Isabel sighed and went back to her email.
