Roswell, Saturday Morning, NFB
Mar. 12th, 2006 12:43 amShe was glad to be back in Roswell, even if it was just for the opportunity to visit the Crashdown for a Galaxy Melt and fries. Sitting in the booth studying the alien décor, Isabel wondered what Aeryn would think of it. Intent on her thoughts, she didn’t hear the footsteps approaching.
Alex leaned over her shoulder and whispered in her ear. "Surprise."
Isabel jumped up and hugged him. "Alex! Oh my God, I thought you were dead."
He hugged her back. "Aw no, no. Listen, that was, that was just a big misunderstanding. Everything's fine, right? Sit down, sit down." Isabel slid into the booth, leaving enough room for him to sit beside her.
"So, how're you doin'?"
"Fine. Fine, now," she said as she wiped at her eyes.
"Good. So, how’s school going? From your letters it sounds like you’re having fun."
She smiled, "It’s amazing. You wouldn’t believe half the stories I could tell. But I think I’m
going to come back home. I miss all of you."
"Good," he grinned. "Good, because, I miss you."
"I miss you too," she admitted shyly.
"Well now you won’t," he said. "I'm not going anywhere. Except band practice. See, I'm runnin' late, and the guys are waiting for me, so I gotta jet. But I'm gonna see you tonight, right?
"Absolutely." She kissed him, smiling at the expression on his face.
"OK I definitely will see you later."
"Isabel. Isabel, wake up, honey."
Isabel sat up and looked around the room in disbelief. "Oh my God, it was just a dream. It was just a dream."
Diane Evans sat down on the bed and wrapped her arms around her daughter as she began to cry. "Oh, sweetheart."
