If anyone can help me figure this out, I will seriously buy them a year's paid time. Because it's pissing me off.
The problem is this. The wireless card is recognizing the wireless network. However when I right click on the little wireless symbol and pick "View available networks", the Choose a Wireless Network screen comes up.
With this message - "Windows cannot configure this wirelss connection"
Refreshing the network list doesn't work.
Repairing the wireless connection doesn't help either because even though it's sort of recognizing the signal, it's not connecting.
Now if I click on the little bars and pick "Connect To", it'll come up with my home network and two other networks I've used previously. If I click on utility there, I can definitely see that I'm picking up the wireless network. It just won't recognize it and add it to the choices. Does that make sense?
It seems to be making the connection, but managing it, ain't happening.
The laptop's a Dell Inspiron E1505
The wireless card's a Dell 1390 WLAN mini-card.
(And yes, I've reinstalled the driver for the card.)
Well color me shocked. I actually managed to figure it out.
*pets Firefox with tabs* Never leave me again.

I clicked on the one with the best signal strength. That added it to the list under the first tab (Wireless Networks).
Then I went back and right clicked on the four bars again. This time I picked "connect to". The new network was in the list.
Hope that helps.
