UNLV, Tonopah Hall, Room 313 - evening

Her parents had left to make the trip back to Roswell, her roommate was off to start setting up her studio, and Isabel had finally finished hanging up pictures and posters in her new dorm room. Satisfied, and exhausted because late night Olympic watching was going to kill her, she sat down with her laptop to check out the list of theme camps at Burning Man.

"I'm going for the gold," Wyatt said, digging paper plates and napkins and utensils out of the bag.

"We just need to convince the I.O.C. to add that competition," Isabel laughed.

"I don't know," Wyatt mused. "I'll need fake ID to prove that I'm not five years old in this time. That might disqualify me."

"It hasn't stopped the Chinese gymnasts. Why should it be a problem for you?"

Wyatt snickered. "True enough," he said. "Nobody can say I look like a five year old."

"No, definitely not," Isabel agreed. "You do realize there will be a shirtless portion to this competition? I mean, why should the diving teams have all the fun?"

"Why do the women's volleyball team have to play in itty bitty bikinis and the guys wear trunks and tank tops?" Wyatt said, picking at his food. "I mean, not that I was complaining, just doesn't seem fair."

Fork waving for emphasis, she nodded vigorously. "Exactly. The guys need to be shirtless and wearing Speedos just to make things equal."

"Fair is fair," Wyatt agreed. "And what do you think, that Michael Phelps guy kinda looks like me, huh?"

"A bit. Although," Isabel grinned, reaching out to tug on a lock of Wyatt's hair, "I can't see you cutting this all off to reduce drag in the water."

"I look like a dork with short hair," Wyatt confessed. "I'd only cut it if I was at gunpoint or something."

After a moment's consideration, she nodded. "Yeah, I just can't picture it. Which means you'll need to protect when you're out doing your thing. So it doesn't get slimed or singed."

Wyatt shuddered. "I wonder if I could just heal it back in that case," he said.

"You could always call me," Isabel offered. "I'm pretty sure I can help."

"Save my hair, save me," Wyatt grinned, sneaking a forkful of Isabel's food.

She let him have a forkful. But a second attempt would be fended off. "I'd be there in a heartbeat. Wearing my Super alien girl antennae, because every superhero needs a costume."

"Does that mean I need to wear tights and a cape?" Wyatt asked.

"Leather. Definitely leather." Someone might have a bit of a kink. As if the multiple leather jackets and skirts she owed weren't enough of a clue. "Maybe something long and sweepy. So you can make an entrance."

"I bet we could find something appropriate when we explore the Strip," Wyatt said. "And I know the Excalibur is totally for kids but we have to go there." Cue puppy dog eyes.

Isabel had to laugh at the puppy eyes. "Sure. We'll go there. But I still think you need to go with me to England the next time I visit Parker so that you can see the real thing."

Wyatt perked up. "You won't hear any argument from me about that," he said.

His apparent enthusiasm made Isabel feel guilty that she hadn't brought him along when she went this past Spring, even if things might have been a bit strained because of the stupid evil teddy bear. "Next time. I promise. But for now we'll have to make do with the cheesy tourist trap."

"And pirates and Egyptian tombs, too?" Wyatt asked. Those, of course, were secondary compared to the lure of the Excalibur.

"That to. And I'm going to take a minute to make a request for a Venetian gondola ride please." She could do puppy eyes just as well.

"Do I get to steer?" Wyatt said. He was kidding, that might end in tears, or at least sogginess.
