UNLV, Tonopah Hall, Room 313 - evening

Isabel yawned as she flipped a page in her math textbook and made a mental note to avoid 8:00 a.m. classes in the Spring semester. She was tired but she wanted to get her math assignment done before she went to bed.

Hopefully the sugar from the bag of mini Milky Ways she was working her way through would keep her awake.

It's the middle of the night in Oxford. Parker has no good excuse for being up this late... except that she got a really good idea for her next Econ paper, and just didn't feel like going to bed.

A glance at the Caller ID had Isabel rolling her eyes in amusement. "Don't you ever sleep? Or are you plotting world domination?"

"I'm solving the problems of the global economy. Don't be judging," Parker told her, sipping some high-octane tea and settling in by her computer. "How are things in Sin City?"

"Workable solutions? Or are you just taking all the money?" she asked. "As for Sin City, things are extremely Sinless. My books and I are spending quality time together."

"Some from Column A, observations of Centre policies in Column B," Parker said, glaring at a spreadsheet, then closing it with the flick of a nail. "My prof won't know what hit her. And I would say 'aww' about the books, except that it's exactly what I'm doing. Wait. That's all the better reason you should be debauching, so I know someone is. Hop to it!"

"I think after last weekend I've had more then enough debauching for the time being," Isabel sighed.

"Bah," Parker said, magnificently ignoring all awkwardness from two weeks ago. "We're not crazy any more. And you have a teleporting boyfriend. Unlike I, who have to drive miles and miles to see my Cambridge fun-buddy."

"I have a teleporting boyfriend who's working out his issues on the demon population of San Francisco in addition to taking a full course load," she pointed out. "Can you say dry spell?"

"Oh, for frak's sake. That's ridiculous." Parker made a face, flopping back on her bed. "It was Fandom! Two weeks is a ridiculously long time to still be angsting and working out issues about that! Sockboy needs to lighten up. I died, do you see me hanging out in cemeteries? Sheesh."

Hoshi needed a distraction from the upcoming disaster looming over the her weekend, so she called Isabel.

Focused on solving one of the lasts of the math problems, Isabel blindly reached for her phone and flipped it open. It was about time for Wyatt's nightly call.

"And what are you wearing this evening?" she asked.

That definitely caught Hoshi off-guard. "Um, just a sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants?" she said tentatively. "I'm sure Ms. Bell would disapprove, but I'm pretty sure I won't be leaving my dorm room tonight."

Isabel face planted into her book and cracked up laughing.

"Oh my god. You're not Wyatt," she said finally.

"No, unless there's some more Fandom wacky going on, and even then, I don't think I'd be surprised" said Hoshi. "My roommate and I both woke up as guys a few weeks ago."

"No wacky. He just usually calls around now," Isabel explained. "I thought it was him."

"I heard about that. I managed to avoid it personally. Although I did have a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend for twenty-four hours."

"That must have been interesting," said Hoshi. "Actually, it was kind of cool once I got used to the idea. It was kind of nice to see how the other half lives."

"Yeah," Isabel chuckled. "I found that out in the Spring. I much prefer being a girl."

This time, Isabel checked Caller ID.

"You! You're alive!"

"I am! And I'm not talking in a ridiculously fake accent!" His grin was probably audible, really. "How's it going?"

"I just accidentally attempted phone sex with Hoshi," she chuckled. "But other that? It's just me and my math book."

"... Now, on the one hand," Ronan said, "I could ask, but I likely don't actually want to know the answer. On the other hand... How do you accidentally have phone sex with someone?"

"I didn't check Caller ID," Isabel explained. "I thought it was someone else."

"... Hopefully Wyatt. Unless there's something you've not mentioned?"

"Of course Wyatt," she said, sticking her tongue out at the phone even though Ronan couldn't see it. "Although I suppose I could have been waiting for your call and just jumped the gun."
