Isabel yawned as she flipped a page in her math textbook and made a mental note to avoid 8:00 a.m. classes in the Spring semester. She was tired but she wanted to get her math assignment done before she went to bed.

Hopefully the sugar from the bag of mini Milky Ways she was working her way through would keep her awake.

"Oh, no, because then he'll really want to talk to them and find out what they think of Earth," groaned Hoshi. "Of course, I'll have to translate for him... I can tell him that I haven't mastered their language?"

"Do you honestly think he'd believe that?" Isabel asked.

"I'm not sure. It might be a good idea to have a couple of excuses like that one handy," said Hoshi. "I guess it could be worse, though. At least he's not bringing his current girlfriend."

"Think of the most bizarre excuses you can come up with, and practice saying them with a straight face," she suggested. "It can't hurt."

"All that rehearsing for the play will probably pay off a little earlier than I thought," said Hoshi.
