Knowing she'd be coming back from the weekend and facing exams bright and early Monday morning, Isabel was actually studying during study week.

Of course studying meant study breaks. Which explained why she was currently planing crops on her Facebook farm.

Wyatt pulled her into a hug. "You, me, hardened fishermen, and crabs? I'm not sure how romantic that sounds."

"It's a different kind of romance. I'm just happy to be with you," she replied, leaning into him. "I'm looking forward to the weekend for that reason."

"Graduation weekend?" Wyatt said, nuzzling her neck. "Did you book a room yet? I haven't."

"I figured as much. So I did," Isabel answered. She purred lightly as Wyatt nuzzled her neck, enjoying the feeling. "Have you talked to Chris? Maybe he and Summer want to have dinner Friday night?"

"No, I haven't," Wyatt said, shrugging. "Figured he'd be too busy getting ready for graduation and all that."

"Exams were over last week. The only thing he needs to do to get ready for graduation now is to stock up on weapons," said the voice of someone who'd been to three Fandom graduations.

"What do you think is going to happen this year?" Wyatt asked. La la la, don't mind him redirecting the subject.

"Ghouls maybe. But you're changing the subject." Isabel paused for a moment, then mentally shrugged and decided to forge ahead. "When was the last time you talked to him?"

"His daughter with Johnny called not long ago," Wyatt pointed out.

"I was there for that. It doesn't count." Pulling back a bit, Isabel studied Wyatt for a long moment. "How are you guys going to live together this summer if you won't talk to him?"

"I don't think he wants to talk to me," Wyatt said with just a trace of bitterness. He shrugged again. "Whatever."

Stubborn, stubborn boys... "You haven't called him, so I take it you're suddenly psychic that you know this?"

"He hasn't called me," Wyatt pointed out. "I get to hear about his escapades second hand."

"Where's the rule that you have to keep score of who calls who first?" she asked. "Just pick up the damn phone."

"He has issues," Wyatt said stubbornly. Pot, kettle.

Isabel rolled her eyes. "You both have the exact same issues. I know you're both freaked out about all this alternate reality stuff. But ignoring it and ignoring each other isn't going to help things."

"My own brother thinks I'm going to turn evil," Wyatt said. "It's kinda hard to strike up a casual conversation when that's looming over you."

"Then forget casual and have a serious conversation," she told him. "Tell him what happened when you got portal napped. Tell him what your grandfather said. Or are you not talking to him either?"

"Of course I'm taking to him," Wyatt said, not quite hiding his irritation. Mostly because he knew Isabel was right, but he was stubborn.

"But have you talked to him about what happened when you were little?" Isabel wasn't irritated so much as frustrated with Wyatt. She was certain that if Chris and Wyatt talked honestly with one another, things would be much better.

"Yeah," Wyatt said quietly. "He didn't tell me much I didn't already know. Chris came back in time when I was just a year old to stop something from happening that would turn me evil. And he got killed trying."

This was news of the not so good sort. "Then that's all the more reason to talk to him." Not that Isabel wanted to tell him he died, but it would probably help to have everyone on the same page.

"How am I going to tell him that he died because of me -- or he's going to die because of me -- and his trying to save me might not even work?" Wyatt said. The timelines were giving him a headache.

"But you're not evil now and you're not going all dark side in the future. So that means there's nothing to stop. Which means he has no reason to go back." She tried not to think about Jack too often, even now it still hurt too much. But Isabel really wished she could talk to him and try and figure out how to fix the whole situation.

"But if he doesn't go back, then whatever he did is undone and I'm evil-me again," Wyatt said, rubbing his temple.
